Why did Capcom include Raiden instead of Big Bear in Cap vs SNK 1 and 2?

I've always been a huge fan of Big Bear so I was highly disappointed when Capcom decided to go with his Raiden incarnation in Capcom vs SNK. But it just doesn't make since. Did they put Raiden in because he had less moves? Did they feel Capcom fans would remember FF1 more than FF2 and Special? But worst of all, he lost all those amazing grappling moves that could easily destroy an opponent in no time. Does anyone have the answer?

Maybe because of his presence in the FF movies. Then again, I don't see Krauser. Well Capcom probably figured out that if they would have put Clark, they would have to remove his moves and SNK fans like ourselves would have scream their heart out so they took Raiden instead of Big Bear (who has more move) knowing the only complain they'll get is why Clark isn't in there.

That's what I think! :)

Because Capcom is full of bad people that don't like you. They like to kick puppy dogs and make unholy sacrifices to the Street Fighter gods. ;)

If you think about it Capcom doesn't really have any good grapplers except for Alex

I dunno? we could only hope that Big Bear will be an alternate costume in CVS3, I am quite suprised that Big Bear wasn't in Real Bout Fatal Fury.

I know that, but grappling wise, BB has a huge advantage over Raiden. Just look at all these throws BB has in FF2 and Special:

Power Bomb
Back Drop
Lariat Drop
Neck Bang
Head Bat
Bear Hug
Lift Up Slam

Now look at Raiden's much smaller arsenal of grappling moves in Capcom vs SNK 1 and 2:

Choke Hold
Sit Out Power Bomb
Power Bomb/Lariot Drop Super
EX Version-Jumping Lariat Drop (Absolutely horrible animation)

I think it all comes down to one thing, If Raiden had every grappling move from his BB persona, he would destroy Zangief.

This is one of those blame Capcom things. Personally, Big Bear's costume isn't very appealing and I prefer his Raiden persona.

Here's Raiden's/Big Bear's movelist for FF:Wild Ambition:
Poison Breath
Giant Bomb
Super Drop Kick
Thunder Death Driver
Death Rake Stomp (Throw)
Dr.Bomb (Throw)
Buffalo Carry (Throw)
Neck-Hanging Three (Throw)
S.Power
Thor's Hammer
Berserker Trident
O.Power
Circle Hurricane

Plus 4 chain combos

So basically the character SNK recreated in Wild Ambition shits all over the Capcom version but what did you expect? Someone had to be equal to Zangief in strength. This has nothing to do with who Capcom picked, if they chose Big Bear he still would have been toned down.

Big bear had krauser in Fatal Fury special in his back pocket. If I played Krauser using Big bear on the the hardest level I would still beat him 10 times out of 10.( I did this by the way).
Bear just has a very powerful move in the Powerbomb and Krausers skinny ass falls for it everytime.
