Last Blade 2 had awesome backgrounds. The waterfall, graveyard, and the burning castle levels are my favorite. SF3: Third Strike had kool backgrounds as well. Yang and Yuns and also that African chick. Cant remember her name but her background was totally kick ass.

I've never been able to warm up to many Capcom BGs. Especially in their newer games (especially the crossover series.)

Best background ever: Genjuro's stage especially with neo cd music. 2nd place Street Fighter III Second Impact's Akuma's stage Mt. Fuji.

Best Backgrounds in a game:Samurai Spirits IV especially when time stops and the background changes.

2nd place:SFIII Second Impact

SNK's background's comes to my mind more often so I give award to SNK.
