Sequel after sequel after sequel, they keep hitting us with repetitive garbage. Now I know what your going say but all this mainstream garbage gets to me and makes me angry for some reason. Capcom is all about the money, porting every game to every system possible to make a little profit. I know its a business but this is just stupid. Companies like Konami or Namco are great because they dont use the same idea's other and other again but if they did like Soul Calibur, they would rearrange things, mix it up.
I have more to say but I got a giant headache, I finish this later.</strong><hr></blockquote>
Wow... I'm about to defend Capcom!
Every game company that you have mentioned are just that... corporations. And ALL corporations will work a concept to death until it can't make money anymore. You say that companies like Konami and Namco don't do this...
Namco owns one of the most OVERLY USED characters in all of video gaming history. PAC-MAN! Let's see... Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Jr. Pac-Man, Baby Pac-Man, Pac-Mania, Pac Man Plus, Super Pac-Man, Pac & Pal, Pac-Land, Pac-World, etc... Seems as if Namco was doing this FAR before Capcom and the Street Fighter franchise. I remember playing Pac-Man for the first time when I was 6 years old... here I am at 29 and they STILL make even more Pac-Man games to this day! Even Tekken has 5 installments and is still going... Namco is FAR from innocent.
Konami may be slightly different... but am I slightly correct for saying that Life Force (Salamander), Gradius, Gradius II, Gradius III, Parodius, Parodius Da, Twin Bee, etc... all follow basically the same formula as a shooter with just different characters? Again, a company "wearing out" a concept that works.
While it's true that some companies listen to their customers more than others, every game company is in it for the cash. Capcom isn't doing anything different than ANY other gaming company in existance.
Porting games to other systems is NOT a bad thing... in fact, if SNK applied more energy into getting their major games to more third party machines instead of Pachinko Slots, then maybe they wouldn't have had as much financial trouble. All that a port does is allow other people to see and possibly purchase your games. If I was making decisions for SNK, I would have made sure that the majority of their games got licensed and released on ALL shores for more than just one system.
I'd rather see my favorite games being played by more people than less.
