KOF 2001 : SUCKS or ROCKS ?

Interesting necrobump. Can we expect a lynching of NeoGeo64 soon?

I haven't ever owned a cart of KOF 2001, always been curious about it. I'm always skeptical of negative opinions on video games and technology. The Virtual Boy and the 32X aren't bad, neither is Metal Slug 4 in a lot of ways. I remember years ago KOF 2001 was considered the absolute worst in the series. Maybe in technical terms it's the worst, or more likely least good, but it can't be actually bad.

What's especially amusing from years back is seeing all the KOF 2001 haters loving KOF 2002. Best sequel ever?

2001 didn't have the impact like the earlier titles, it lacked their soul, but overall it was a pretty fun title. The story elements and endings and so on are worthy of a play through if you like that kind of stuff.

Hell... this might have been one of my very first posts in here...

Honestly '01 is an acquired taste. I had more fun with it when it first came out then '02 when it first came out. The system is refreshing and feels more balanced then '00.

I only got to play KOF 2k1 a handful of time vs a human opponent. I def need to give this game a replay.
