I think everyone knows how much the HNG64 really sucked.

Sure it is a valuable collectors item, but it really ws a lame system.

I first expected it to be a leap ahead system that would have graphics twice as good as Playstation and N64, considering that the 16-bit Neo was a huge leap ahead of the Genesis and SNES.

When you look at the very few games on this meager system, they all have pathetic graphics, like FF Wild Ambition, the graphics are almost as bad as Tekken 2, and I wont even mention Samurai Shodown 64.

Given that it is combatible with a dedicated Neo Cabinet, I intend to maybe buy one for the extortionate price this system is sold for. (And only because of the game names!)

People that judge the quality of a game after its graphical quality, should get a PS2, XBox or GCN....there you've got all the glory of 3D-Mainstream-high-res-graphics.

The Hyper is a great system with great games. They have awesome gameplay and a superb atmosphere. They don't look like the latest installment of Tekken or VF, but WHO THE FUCK CARES?!? If you think that a game is good just because it looks good (and the other way around) then you're really in the wrong place here!

It's all about the gameplay...and even if there are only four fighters on the Hyper...these can provide more quality gameplay than most games today!

I really hate it when people are looking at a game, seeing outdated gfx and at the same time, telling me that the system and the games are crap.

I agree totally. I mean, Games like megaman, sonic and teenage mutant ninja turtles may look WAY outdated today, but I still prefer them over the xbox games or any other new systems and games today. besides, from what Ive seen, Hyper looks pretty decent :D

MVSteve: I can see you maybe having problems with the graphics, but it's really stupid that that's the ONLY reason you mentioned as to why you don't like the system.

I think MVSteve here is stuck in a time warp.

Ummm..the system is very affordable by comparison to wht it used to sell for. By the way champ, I think a dictionary might be in order.

Judging by your lame ass reasons as to why the HNG64 sucked as well as your complete lack of knowledge about...well about everything, I severely doubt you've even played the system.

Probably judging it on those lame ass PSX representations.

In conclusion, you are a troll.

ALl I haveto say..... is the SNES rocked....

Harvest moon, zelda :ALTTP, Legend of Gaia, Pilot wings, f-zero, final fantasy, mega man x-x3, super Metroid (MAN I CANNOT WAIT FOR METROID PRIME!!), SUper Mario World, Yoshi's Island, Contra3, Bomberman party edition..... the list goes on and on. There are sooo many great classics on the SNES...... why aren't most games of today as good? because too much time is spent on grafx.

I am tired of that issue.... and I wish developers would make good games like they used to.

I cannot wait for metroid prime :) ... ahhh bliss.

You know if you want to make a transitional point you have to at least allude to the topic at hand. You didn't. On top of which no one ever argued that when the SNES was a new system that it didn't have graphical prowess. Thus your analogy is not only misplaced, but unfounded as well.

yes psx had a party edition, but SNES had it 1st.

It was a party pack to be exact...you know.. with the turbo tap :)

Wrong-o

The Snes version was Super Bomberman and yes while it did come in a "party pack" the title of the game is not Bomberman Party Edition. On top of this the 4 player adapter is the Super Multitap...not the turbo tap.

So with that logic Quake III is better then Half-life right?

Now you are talking about cars?

Anyhow a Party Pack is not a Party Edition.

So anyhow, that MVSteve sure is an idiot, huh? :p

lol... what a change of topic :)

You know..... I have been to many arcades, but I have yet to see H64 arcade machines.

Even when I heard about them coming out in 1997-1998.... I looked everywhere for 1. On our vacations to the west... I found none. I was at many major arcades too :(

Anyone know where around Indiana there is a H64?
*Another off topic question :) *

I hate to say this but - BOLLOCKS -

I ordered my hyper just after reading the start of this post not quite knowing what to expect, I had heard good reviews and then bad ones from people like MVSteve, It arrived this morning all wrapped nicely in it's original box from SNK with the words HYPER NEO GEO 64 on the side in big red lettering (I must admit I thought I was a kid again all giddy) I unwrapped it carefully not to damage any of the original artwork or move stickers etc and slotted it straight into my modified jamma-mvs cab and wow worked a treat first time and I was in heaven, just the sounds and the atmosphere got me drawn in, so I gave my fiancee a fiver and sent her packing while I got down to playing (only kidding shed slap me if I did that). Anyway all in all I'm very impressed, from what i've read Buriki 1 is the game everyone rates last out of the four fighters but as it was already on the board I thought i'd play that first and I thought it was great, controls are different by a long way but once you get into it there not bad, I then tried samurai spirits 2 and this is an excellent game, when the big guy comes on and stamps on my head I just don't mind as it looks great and means I have to play longer haha.

Well I best finish this off so just to recap, those who slag this system off who cares just don't buy one and those who like it be happy your not a loser and PLAY ON .....

You know why I like the SS 64 games? Artistic excellence and ambiance. The way Hand-painted traditional Japanese works are intergrated into SS 64 is just beautiful. The Dark atmosphere of Asura: Zanamnden is gripping, and really embarks the series on a new journey. The music: outstanding, plus, I actually enjoy these games.

Yes, I normally hate 3-D fighters, but I find these rather interesting and enjoyable. Yes, the 2-D SS games are better, but these still seem to contain the style and flare of the series. Not the best in the world, but not total malarky either.
