actually, with current systems, compression won't take that long.. (what used to to me 25 hours+ to compress 2 years ago can now be done in 2+)

Yeah... that's still long!

It takes me a while to complete all the editing and compression for even a few minutes of video, and that's why I have no interest. :)

Hahaha... You just reminded me of the last DVD I did from a Video. I did a composite copy of Watership Down from VHS to my computer. Then compressed the raw file to MPEG2... it took 96 hours to do in Media Cleaner (yeah I know even Toast can do it faster, but the quality was amazing in Media Cleaner!). Anyway, it is a big ordeal and tied my machine up for a while, luckily you could pause... and that was just a spare computer... or else it would have really been bad. Now I need to get one of those iLamps just for DVD encoding/burning... hehe,

So is this gonna be cd only or is someone gonna host it on the web? I have cable so a 700 meg file is no problem.

i have NO webspace, nor do i want the hassle of it (i do websites at my job...and HATE it). i can probably make smaller "streaming" files, but someone else would have to host it.... if it's ok with gargoyle7. it's his video to begin with.

Current video-encoding progress? :)

I hope someone can send a copy of the CD(s?) to me...even if I've got a Hyper now...I don't have many videos of its games on my PC...

paused at 75%, still in the process of moving (heavy rains the last 2 weeks have slowed me down), my pc's are at my new place, but not my monitors. hopefully, everything can be up and running again by wednesday (if it doesn't rain the next 2 days) the hard part is done (testing different codec/frame rates) now it's just a matter of finishing up the recording, sectioning it, and brightening it up a bit, since the source was a bit dark. I'm out to a wedding this thursday-sunday, so hopefully i'll have good news by next wednesday.

If you make the movie smaller, like into 9 or 10 different clips, I can host 1 per week, let me know....PM me (100 megs each)

so, you can host 1 100 meg clip a week? i can chop it up into chunks, but in the end, it's gargoyle's choice....
