Hum... aren't those Guile and Cammy from SF? (Look at the VS screen the fighters in the middle)
I wonder what do you get when you put that cart in your genesis . Probably a screen saying "You're so fool"

Currently the company I work for is building a plant in China. Because of this, I have a better insight into Chinese culture. One of the things you learn early on is that in China, copying shit is natural for them. It's like 2nd nature. The tired cliche "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" is the way their culture is set up. Of course, try telling that to any compnay that has H-K ripoffs of anything, like music CDs or MVS carts. They don't see it as a problem, whereas the rest of the world does. What's even worse is they imitate the games/CDs whatever, but fail to imitate the quality. Has anyone ever heard a bootleg of a live concert? That's about the equivalent ot some of the HK CDs I've heard. That's also why this game probably sucks ass. They spent time imitating the characters, not the famously great gameplay.

Oh well. If it only goes for $10 and it's fun, would it really matter? I mean shit, SNK never made a KOF '98 on any home system (other than DC), so it doesn't take away their sales on that game. I really only have a huge problem when it would defer money from the company how built said program/game. I guess it could also damage SNK's image, but since technically, SNK is no more, would it affect anything that much?

Stepping off soapbox.

Well... They probably just ripped the graphics from the Genesis Fatal Fury, Street Fighter and Art of Fighting games. Curious as to why they didn't dig through the Samsho CD game.

Whoa! That's terrible! I can and have made better MUGEN games than that one by a long shot! I've gotta see this thing in action!

Yep, that's what's known as a "Hong Kong" original - A real cartridge made using tiles from other games.

I have seen many weird ones indeed, does "Turbo Mortal Kombat III - 56 Peoples Edition" get you excited?

Well... actually i'm making a PC game using DirectX based rutines and ripping sprites. The purpose is to create a stand alone game (Not another sucking mugen) with ALL frames of animation, NO differences in sprites from different games, NEW frames in order to smooth animation of some characters, RENDERED specials, TRANSPARANCY fx, good STORY, and SNK-style playability.

All the songs are classic songs of their fighters but arranged versions. And each character have their own stage, based on their original stages but enhaced (I.E: Mai fights in an enhaced version of her FF2 stage)

I'll post more info when I finish my exams and put some links to download a beta version ;)

For more info of the languaje used to program such a game take a look at Fenix Website. NOTE: It's not kind of "Click&play" clone... It's a stand alone language like C or Pascal but game oriented.

That's sound cool! How many frames for most of the characters actually? How many characters are there in the game you're making and how many stages? How big is the beta version of the game? And are there any secret characters?
