The fighter I really want is MOTW (tooooo expensive!) but would KOF2k still be a good choice for $199???
Thanks ahead for all replies.

Well, considering the fact that KOF 2000 costs $250 at just about every place on the Internet, I'd say go for it. If you really want to get MOTW, you're better off saving your money and getting it for Dreamcast (I hear it's an excellent console conversion). Of course, 98's also a good choice. If you're reluctant about all the new features added after '99, and are a real traditionalist, go for it.

By the way, Mr. Osenki, if the AES console prices scare you to death, you can always get an AES-to-MVS converter, and play MVS games off of your system. MVS games are a lot cheaper than their AES counterparts.

I know NeoDragon, I won't do it again to soon. Anyway, I am still thankful for all the replies, it was very entertaining to read this thread in any case.
Now NeoDragon, the reason I am not a KoF fan is because I don't own any part. I live in Germany and never even had the chance to play it on the arcade.
That is also the reason why I was considering buying Kof2k, because I wanted to own a part of the series. On the other hand, I HAVE played MOTW at a friends house and I LOVED it, so I am sure to buy it when I find a good deal (btw. anyone selling MotW for $300 ??). Again, thank you for all the replies, its been a laugh

Glad you had a laugh,I dont usually flame.

As for getting the game ....as you can tell by the wide range of answers its just a matter of personal taste,I love kof 99,others think its the worse,I love sam shodown 2, others think its the best so really opinions on different games are wide and varied,

Its a lot of money to fork out though if you are not sure

Oh btw, I just checked the "Neo polls", it seems many think kof2k to be the best fighter alongside MotW. I guess many of you don't care for the polls, but its interesting anyway.

(Anyone selling MotW for $300 ???)

A fact to take into account...thanks. Oh! I just realized I'm a Twinkle Star Sprite now!! oooh no! Gotta keep busy to reach the next level....

Damn, I really really want MotW. Im happy I didn't buy kof2k, Maybe now I can get my Bro Invest more into MotW. He and I have been buying all Neo things together since we started ten years ago (or when was AOF 1 released?). Ill keep looking till somebody sells their MOTW FOR $300. Never give up hope I guess....

BTW, I ordered Samurai Spirits 2 last week, I looooove that game (it was the only arcade game I had access to in Germany, cuz the machine stood inside a Family Video Rental Store). I can't wait to play it again, been so long

Thanks again for all da responses!

Mr.Osenki,

I have KOF 2000 for $185.
I bought it brand new from Yukuridanshi (Japan) not so long ago (5-6 months?).
The condition is mint like new.
Let me know if interested, ask for pictures.
I accept Paypal.

I absolutely love shodown 2,I have mvs + supergun and play my games to death,I am defo a player and not a collector when it comes to the neo geo,

Have you ever thought about investing in a aes/mvs converter? that way you could get a cheap MOTW mvs for your aes, the price is 4 times as cheap, like many other mvs games,
I got kof 94 for just 10 dollars on mvs and metal slug for 40 dollars while on aes you would need to get a mortgage.
you should think about it,there are some good converters about and who really knows if kof2001 wont only come out on the mvs now?

I'm glad everyone made up and there is conflict resolution.

But KoF2K is still pants.

No I'm not british, I'm just knicking all of the brits tongue. Bollocks I know, but it is quite fun to use.

HI Hakkun,

Just click on the neogeo pocket icon on therage.com, you should see kof2k advertised for $199 on the following page. Try this link (not sure if these work):

kof2k for $199

Anyway, thanks for a ll the responses again and Ill think about the MVS deal. A local video rental store had a 2-slot arcade system some years back, if it wasn't leased I'll try to buy it of them
k, thanks again

Neo GML,

I'll stick up with you. I really enjoy Kof 2000. I have owned 99 in the past and enjoyed that one too. I can't get into the "old" kofs anymore. They just seemed too aged. I am buying 96 simply because it has the boss team and has some of the best music. I also ordered 98 since you people seem to like it the best. I CANNOT wait for 2001! That looks badass!
