Your opinions on a LA get together?

I was just thinking you know we all could make this happen.
I personally could make this. Anywhere in the LA area I could get to with ease, the problem is how many people that live locally could actually make this get together if it happened? I mean it would be great, we all could meet up at and arcade or reserve one and have the machines on freeplay (I AM MAKING NO PROMISES), it would be cool to actually meet each other and get to see we are all human, and let these petty fights and grudges slide away.
I mean the members that have met off these boards all seem cool with each other why not?
I know that Bobak, and neobuyer are in this area (at least if I remember correctly) Anyhow if you could make it to a arcade that we all decide would be a good place of meeting for some good matches, we could get to know each other as humans and not some crazy loony on the other side.
One thing is for sure, if this does go down, the machines will not be the american stand ups, they will be the sit downs, because to me the sitdowns are much more comfortable and less space consuming. They are also the sexiest machines that SNK ever produced (And by this I mean candy's) I have a candy myself and no neo unit is more enjoyable or conveinant, I mean you could fit these things by the doxen in a arcade!
Well I wish this would work, we got to meet each other in real life!
I mean BBS is cool and all, but why not arrange some for sure events in local areas that the majority of the gamers are.
If this does happen which it will need tremendous support before it gets even a slight chance, it would be great.
And another thing, FREEPLAY FOR ALL

This is a good idea, LWK. I've been trying to organize a similar event for years, but
living in New Hampshire (i.e. home of the cow ) doesn't help matters any. The biggest
game at my local Arcade is SNK vs Capcom . The owner refuses to have an MVS machine in his Arcade.

i used to live in LA, but now i live in ventura, and its only about an hour away, so if it happens i am probibly in, i just need a ride, im 15. I hope you would let a 15 year old come. I don't think an LA get together is hard since there are a lot on feo gamers in that part of the country.

Anyway, yes, I think this is a great idea. I live in the Seattle area, but I would be willing to take a vacation in LA if we could get a decent turnout. I have been to LA many times and love that town (I actually plan on moving there someday), and I agree that getting together and actually playing Neo Geo together would be a great expierience. We could get drunk, have tournaments, go to strip clubs, buy and sell and trade our games, it would be a blast. So I'm in...we should try to make an official list of who is interested, and then meet in the chat room some night and talk about it.

Are there any good SNK arcades in LA? At the University of CA, Irvine, there's an arcade that had quite a few SNK games. They useto have MotW, but now they have Strikers III, MS3, KoF2000, and all the capcom fighters. At UCI they have 3 MS machines, 2 MS2's and 1 MS3! Capcom fighters include SF3, MvC2, Project Justice, Xmen vs SF, Marvel vs SF, SFZ3, and Gunbird 2. If you are in Irvine, you should check it out. I have never seen an arcade with more than 1 SNK machine.

There is one across the street from mt SAC, they got a kof 2000 and a few neo candies, Belongs to danny of gamescity.

Cool i'm and i think i have 2 more friends that could go as well, there members of these forums too..we're about 45 min from LA
