Well, here we are again, going full circle. The mod staff has more or less decided what to do, but since there was a little bit of a fiasco last time, we figured we would let the userbase voice their opinions.

Typically we do not take actions against users who do something outside of the Forums, but in this instance, there is no way we can just turn a 'blind eye' to some happenings. It is unfortunate, and we do not enjoy it, but some sort or order must be maintained here (funny, right?).

Anyway, his most recent actions in the 'alt.binaries.dreamcast' newsgroup cemented his fate as far as the mod staff is concerned, unless someone can come up with some SOLID proof that this is not really him. Lets look at the facts....

Which AMAZINGLY is a thread complaining about pirates written by the same one who posted. Notice that in his message he include the '.nfo' file for the KOF2k DC release.

Now, we see the ROM vs Cart arguement all of the time for Neo Geo games. That is fine. Now, if someone can come up with a good reason to pirate a $50 DC game that is less than a week old..... That is just reprehensible!

Anyway, our case is made. We, on the staff, believe he deserves a PERMANENT ban along with anyone offering his goods for sale. We can not sit and allow this behavior and do nothing, especially since this will be a permanent disturbance on the board (just ask my PM box which is full of complaints).

So, what do the members think? Are they now in agreement? Is his hypocritical actions in this instance beyond any additional chances? We say yes! Let us know your thoughts.

This complaint are probably from peoples who just dont like him and dont like how he post, just see all thread with full of insult against him, for me he havent do somethings in this board ! i dont know outside of this board, only i think that s not a reason to ban him here, or ban him only if he scammed or injured someone here !

And for the peoples who will criticise me or laught at me, yes i m a too good man, only i will not change my way and your opinion will change nothing, i m not a puppet :)

No offense Stephane but you seem to jump to the defense of pretty much every idiot on this board. i know you want a "pretty, peaceful, happy" board where everyone gets along and you can all frolic in the flowers, but the reality is that

a) you butt in to threads to which you have no knowledge and defend board trolls

and

b) there is never going to be a universal consensus on any issue here..as such it is up to the moderators to determine the course of the boards.

Stop trying to be the moral defender on the boards, it really is getting tiresome.

So I wonder why someone like that would even be here?

I do not agree with banning for actions that have no bearing on this BBS.

Whether he pirates softwarew or beats baby seals away from here is not our concern.

As long as he doesn't post about it here, I don't care.

Don't forget that Japhei is now going under the name of "Ikaruga" on these forums! Who knows if he has any other assumed identities.

I am new here, but I've seen him pull some pretty stupid moves which certainly warrant a ban. You have my support to ban him!

I would ban Kyokugen Fag before Japhei. Japhei gave out a ROM, KS stole $1,400. Why is KS still here anyway? Why didn't we get to vote to stomp his sorry ass?

I agree with the fact about not banning people for outside actions, hence why I mentioned it.

sounds good to me! I'm new to these boards, but every time I read a serious topic this guy always ruins it. He's out of control trying to piss people off and switch his identity. When I get really interested in a post he comes in halfway through the first page and starts talking crap, then it gets from becing about the topic to what a f****n idiot he is

Unless Japhei has more enemies than we know of, the headers line up with his past.

What is the chance he would have the DC KOF2k '.nfo' file, and someone else in his neighborhood on cable would post the dump to a newsgroup claiming to be him? I would wager good money on it being him, but if he can prove otherwise, fine.

If actions outside this board have nothing to do with the actual forum, why get all up in arms over Dion assaulting a member of this board?

Easy. Because one way or another, it got carried into this forum. Japhei did it himself by posting the .nfo and complaining about it.

My main concern is this...

We all know what kind of idiot this kid is...a bootlegger, a pirate, and an overall ignorant asshole. What good is he going to bring the Forum? At the very best, he'll change his "appearance", but he's always the same idiot at heart. At the worst, he'll give the forum a bad name by associating it with bad sales, trades, and maybe even funneling in some of his idiot fucking software ripping friends to SPAM the board up.

It seems like this is a no brainer...Just like the real world, we should do what's best for the society and the majority and ban him.

As for the on-going debate about his integrity: I have never dealt with Japhei myself (I believe only a handful of members have actually bought from him), so I cannot attest to his business practices. In short, I will support whatever action the Mods take against him.

i too agree to ban him, his actions show that from the start that he doesn't care about anything except churning up trouble... selling bootlegs to being a downright ass on the boards.(ikaragu whoring especially)

I will say this:

Japhei is a good and honest seller. I have personally completed a deal with him today on KOF2k1 MVS (just got the cart!).

You may not like how/what he posts, but he is an honest seller, which is hard to come by.

I'm gonna stick up for him bcuz he is my friend and has always been an excellent provider of goods and services. So what if a post in a newsgroup happens to be neo related, and so what if he posted something that was sorta hypocritical to what he does. Who freaking cares? This is just god forsaken message board where people can voice their opinions ( whether they are false or not) If your gonna ban him for piracy you might as well seek out everyone else thats a pirate on this board and come to think of it anyone who downloads any illegal material into their machines!! not only is he being hypocritical but some of the moderators are as well, I know some of you are pirates also. Just my two cents if you assholes want to flame me for it bring it on!! I just wont respond to your idiocy.
