Which rgb bypass mod for a 3-5 aes system?

Compared to my low serial number AES, the rgb output on 2nd aes with a 3-5 is terrible

Getting ready to do the rgb bypass with 150 ohm resistors as per bob at retrorgb and I see that the 3-6 layout is a bit different with the cap placement

Doing a bit of digging it seems that others have had success with the 3-5 and what seems to be the same bypass mod as the 3-6 but no mention of the resistance

Can anyone comment if the 3-5 is done the same way and uses 150R?

There’s a guide on JNX for how to perform a 3-5 RGB bypass. I’d follow it to a tee, because it’s how I did mine and got great results. (Checker-board pattern gone)

Since this mod is a bit older, is it superseded by this bypass mod also done on a 3-5 board using the "retrorgb" method?

A lot more people using Rgb compared to 5+ years ago, making me think the latest retrorgb method Should be the best?

An RGB bypass is an RGB bypass. Whatever method you use, you get the same results. It means nothing that RetroRGB posted a tutorial more recently than James at JNX. James was doing these mods before RetroRGB was even a thing.

RGBob regurgitates information found elsewhere on the internet. Xian Xi/JNX actually knows what he's doing and why it works. Use the available information as you will.

Doing it that way is just basically removing the CXA as an RGB buffer. Not sure why it would be preferred.
