Hi guys.. I have a 2 slot MV2F with a graphic problem...
the Neo Diagnostic bios says "all test passed" but the image has mirrored columns and can not solve the problem.

I change the ZMC2 and Lo ROM but have had no effects

Thanks

Hello !
It can be many things, let's start by trying the basics, it has worked for me on more than one occasion.

-You try with other games? do it
-Try moving or slightly passing the slot cartridge with the console running, it may be a bad contact due to too much pressure when inserting it or the other way around.
You can also see immediately if the image improves or remains the same.
-Do a good clean of game cart pins and board slot pins ( i use credit card under a 100% cotton shirt with alcohol on it ) you insert like a game in slot and that clean it a little )
-Try to press slightly with the game ON the big chips of the MVS board to se if the image is better ( maybe cold joints or without solder doing bad contact ).

Its important you try more games can be a problem of Mslug2, a cold solder joints maybe with reflow of some memory chips like P, M and C's...

tried few cards with same results...all cart contacts are cleaned....

I already tried to chenge the ZMC2 and LO ROm bu I think the problem is elsware..

Neo Wiky suggest a similar problem ( 4 coulumns mirrored) as an A4 address (https://wiki.neogeodev.org/index.php?title=Graphic_glitches) but the MV2F board don't have NEO-273 chip.. so wich is the chip who is used insted..

Thanks

Looks like a problem with one of the NEO-257 chips.

I suspected one of the 257...but usually when I have found one with problems was not impicted both the overlay text and background... that was why I cahanged first the ZMC2...

Usually when one of the 3 x 257 is compromised I have only vertical lines in
-background ( the one top left)
-sprites ( the one down left)
-or the non on the right that is for overlay graphics..

right...

thanks

Since the issue is happening with both C/S ROMs I would suggest looking in to the P0-P23 address lines used for accessing those roms.

The P0-P23 address lines start at the NEO-B1, go to the NEO-E0 @ 4F and then onto both CHA board slots.
