The one post you didn't immediately edit, you posted in the wrong subforum.

always torn between 97 and 98. If you put a gun to my head I would probably pick 97.

Same here between 94 and 99. Still 94 would be my choice. For some reason 94 has a special place in my heart.

SNK and Neo-Geo related topics should go to the General sub-forum > General Discussions topic.

Off topic discussion not associated with the other forums belong here as described in detail on the main forum page.

Reading can be fun :tickled:

Yes, that is the sole reason for our existence.

Sorry I didn't mean it that way but it's part of your job. Like my best friend's job is to fix my PC, again;-) I fix lifes and stuff. Again, didn't mean it that way.

Oh und dankeschön nachträglich, hast recht gehabt...

It's all about the music. 96 is the best and 98 is #2. Everything else is far behind. 96 is a little bit catchier than 98, and it has nicer sprite work on the characters than the more generic anime look of 98. Unfortunately that generic anime look with more solid colors and less shading took over in 99 and 2000. None of the KOFs after 2000 are even real Neo Geo games, so who cares.

The final screen of the 96 intro has a perfect composition, too. None of the other ones have anything as good.

Same. 98 has a great, energetic intro, but the pacing and music cues in the 97 intro are just spot on. Also, that awesome shot of Beni charging up his electric is baller.

Easily this one.

KOF98 for the Dreamcast:

For the AES/MVS, it's hard to beat the 94~96 ones.

Yep came to post this exactly, lol! The sample is played fully in game, see signature.
Of course it's not just because of that sample, but also because the intro legitimately owns, censorship or not.

Seeing the 94 intro in an arcade in 1994 was probably pretty awesome.

I saw it the first time when the Japanese cart arrived at Maro. Big happeneing. Many people where standing around when it was fired up by Sven the first time.
