I’ve been having a hard time tracking down ghost pilots dog tag variant. It’s a common cart but one that is always just out of reach. If one pops up I’d be very happy to snag it soon.

All Japanese: Art of Fighting 3, Fighters History, League Bowling, and KOF 2002. Those are my must haves. There are more games I want, but I'm in no hurry for the rest.

Im a pretty focused collector. I need JP SS V special to complete my collection. Not found one in a condition I like yet. Outside of that I want either (JP) Metal Slug 3 or 4 and a nicer copy of MotW than what I have. Ive not been in a rush because the NeoSd is good enough.

Only miss U11... one friend of mine (Takato/Markus) had it here in Köln, unfortunately, we didn't know each other back then and it was soon snatched by FTL. IIRC, Fran was there, too, to pick it up. Takato had an epic collection. In those crazy days those guys would buy at least three sets of a single title: two english carts, one to play, one to display and another japanese one as back-up. Or so I heard, cause I was never part of that scene. Still, more than happy with what I got today. The 00s were the best time for collecting, with unmatched cost/benefit ratios, while the best time for playing is, like the future according to SNK, now: MAME, Everdrives, Multicarts, MiSTer, FPGA, pimped-up modding, OSSC among other things, including any romz you'd ever want to.

There are only 6 Neo games I need in my life and that's the first 3 Samsho's, Art of Fighting 1+2, and Super Sidekicks. Plenty of great games on the Neo but those are my must haves. The rest I'm cool with playing on a flash cart or Mvs.

Is MVS some kind of second-rate neo to you? I feel offended. It’s the ORIGINAL

my favorite neo geo game was only released on MVS.

I recently found out I'm just a hardware guy. I really don't care too much about teh raers, I'm usually happy to own a system with 0 legit games, especially nowadays where you don't need to rely on janky pirate carts with questionable lead and mercury filled quality. For me the AES was never attainable anyway and I still can't justify an AES with homecarts, but I find other people's collections very cool... it's just not for me.

Yes and I don't care if I offended you. I only buy MVS because Aes is too pricey. I did have a very nice Aes collection at one point and sold 90% of it so no going back now.

Would be MOTW, Metal slug 3 and SSVS (Jap versions). Maybe if the exchange rates gets more favorable between SEK and USD/Yen I will pull the trigger on one of those. Still a big maybe.

I'm trying to hold myself to less than 20 home carts, so I'm having to get pretty picky about purchases now. A few that are still on my list would be last resort, mutation nation, league bowling, and the big tymer one would be Waku Waku 7. I never should have sold my copy before.

MVS is second rate if you don't care for giant arcade cabinets in your home or janky circuit board setups with ugly carts meant to be heard and not seen.

Also, Strikers 1945 Plus did receive an official !Arcade! release on AES. Genuine blue boards by Ray Young, probably had Dion Dakis call them bullshit fakes or something I dunno

Same, never gave a toss about MVS, or cabinets in general, who wants that crap in their house.

    *ninja*

Have to agree with HMG (gasp!) the Arcade Strikers 1945 was the nicest bootleg/conversion I've ever seen.

I am pretty content with what I have now. Only missing Ninja Commando Dog Tag, Stakes Winners 2, Slug 1 and 2. I am more worried about getting bootleg AES these days so I would only buy from a trusted seller. The golden years of hunting down AES games have passed thanks to the hype created by youtubers and facebook groups, the French and Chinese bootleggers, and new collectors.

In reality, I have passed the video game "collection" stage as I have shifted my focus on other things in life.

You’re an absolute idiot for thinking that MVS is the “original” Neo Geo. No one who owns both an AES and MVS thinks that MVS is absolutely superior. It’s all just Neo Geo, just on different boards. Also, the AES hardware was created at the same time as the MVS hardware. If you actually did your research, you would know that the day the Neo Geo was unveiled the MVS and AES hardware debuted together. Neither is the ORIGINAL. They were made along side each other and were first seen on the same day. Also, the development kits for Neo Geo titles were AES consoles with the debug BIOS. Look at the Neo Geo developers manual. They didn’t make and debug their games on MVS hardware.

You have a lot to learn about the Neo, and your MVS superiority complex is pure ignorance.

Damn dude. I will admit if i’m wrong. I thought neo was first an arcade hardware, and then they created the home console as a means of promoting the arcade. When the aes was first created, it was only rented and not sold publicly. Then due to public demand they began selling it retail. Perhaps i am wrong but that is what i heard. No interest in arguing.

The main reason i like MVS the best is because it has the most official game releases. It seems like the most complete neo experience. Games like nightmare in the dark, zupapa, prehistoric isle 2 and a few others didnt have official home releases from SNK.

Bare in mind i own AES, MVS and neoCD consoles. I love them all. Calling me an absolute idiot is just bogus dude, i’m not looking to argue. Again if i have my facts wrong i will gladly admit i’m wrong. Thanks for the input.

Hmm I’ve been thinking of grabbing a magic key converter so I can buy a strikers 1945 mvs cart. Good to know it’s Made of quality materials if I decide to go that route.

Miss me with this Big Tymer BS. Take it from this Executive Status forum member (with his feet on the desk)... Ya ain’t fit to shine my shoes.

    Educate yourself below:

    taken from "http://www.neogeofreak.com/glossary.htm"

    Collector terms / ladder system
Used to describe ones collection level status by other NeoGeo fans, gamers, and collectors.

    - AES
Aspiring Freak - newbie in the Neo AES collecting game. Under 50 AES carts
NeoGeoFreak: - reaching 100+ AES carts with 5 being converts.
Big Tymer: - person with 4 Big Games or 3 Big Game and 8 converted carts.
Executive: - having ALL the NeoGeo carts and Big Games in your collection.
Super Freak: - the pinnacle of AES collecting. Owning all the unreleased/converts cartridges.

*(A person can own SuperFreak items and not be deemed a SuperFreak collector)

    - MVS
Aspiring Freak - newbie in the MVS collecting game. Under 50 MVS carts
NeoGeoFreak: - reaching 80+ MVS carts
Big Tymer: - reaching 100+ MVS carts .
Executive: - having the completed MVS cartridge line-up.
Super Freak: - the pinnacle of MVS collecting. Owning all MVS carts and unreleased prototype games.

The AES was rental first likely because SNK didn’t know if there was consumer demand to own AES consoles and games, this was also only in Japan in 1990. The AES was released in the USA as a retail product in 1991.

I find it funny that you claim MVS is better because it had all the games for the overall platform, yet you prefer the Turbografx-16 over the PC engine...
