AES 3-6 RGB bypass or cut traces

Which will yield the best picture? Trace cut or bypass? I have a 3-6 I want a better RGB picture

Personally I prefer the RGB bypass because you're not cutting the board.

Have you compared the image quality though? Cut traces can always be patched.

I have performed the RGB bypass on my AES 3-6. I've not compared the bypass to a cut trace mod.

The AES 3-6 with the RGB bypass gives you a picture quality that is pretty close to that of the MVS ( just a tad softer ).

Fairly sure MKL made mention of either method giving the same result. You're just doing more work with the bypass mod.

Since it's a 3-6 you have better chances of getting a good enough result by just cutting the traces than you would on other board revisions. Whether it will be as good as the full bypass, I cannot say.

So i tried both,, both had similar results. But I went for the cut traces,, seems the colors seem more right on this method...
