How about this: what if Nintendo manufactured 3DO consoles along with Panasonic, Goldstar, Philips, Magnavox, Pioneer Matsushita, NEC, SONY, and SEGA. Nintendo and Sega and SNK and everyone else competes by selling their own games on the 3DO platform. Future generations only have two mainstream platforms, PC and the new X86 based 3DO successors from all console manufacturers. Trip hawkins becomes the richest man alive surpassing bill gates.
