Looks nice. You've probably had to critique before but I think you speak a tad too fast. Slow it down a little bit and your videos will be as relaxing as a game of Neo Turf Masters.

Since we both use a Framemeister and the HD60S, then you know my pain. So much re-plugging of the USB cable to get it working again every time you change games or reset!

My wife wants my arcade PCB's out of the top shelf of the bedroom closet. No idea where most of them will go.

For fucks sake right? The Elgato HD 60 S is awesome...when it works. Seriously the damn thing has a mind of its own. Some days it will refuse to sync / freeze during capture half a dozen times. Other ways it will let me capture an hour zero issues.

I need to build a new PC with more PCI expansion so I can get it off the USB hub. I keep hearing about how bad it is over USB, and how great their internal PCI based cards are

The few times I've used it with a modern console instead of the Framemeister it worked fine. My assumption is that it's just not designed for all the sync changes and dropped sync when power cycling analog consoles attached through the Framemeister.

For what it's worth, I've never had it drop in the middle of recording. Now that I know what to look for, once it's recording correctly it stays recording. I assume games that drop or change sync in the middle of play are problematic. I always use a dedicated USB 3.0 port.

The important take away is that you used video games as an excuse to hide a video camera in your bedroom, thereby making it somewhat less creepy(?). Depends on how you explain it, but I feel it would have worked for Maddox.

I am about to embark upon game capture as well and had some questions if you could help?

Can arcade board capture through a supergun be routed to the Mini Framemeister via SCART, or will I blow something up?

I was considering arranging my equipment in this way -
Console -->miniFM-->Elgato-->powered HDMI 1x2 splitter-->TV & PC

In your experience, will this setup operate with significant lag or not?

If you have a pre-built supergun, then the video levels should already be attenuated properly for the TV, and therefore appropriate for the Framemeister.

If you build your own supergun, then put 220uF capacitors on all 3 RGB lines and the sync line. Put a 470 ohm resistor on the sync line, and 1k pots on each of the RGB lines.

There's probably a channel on pornhub called BangingBacon
