Did these by chance go on sale for Black Friday ? Just wondering, I'll check tomorrow for Cyber Monday but I doubt it given the special case category these fall under. I want a CoreGrafx and PC Engine model. I'll sacrifice an ugly TG-16 in the hopes the Japanese/EU models can be hacked later for your own selection of games down the road.

These systems haven't been released yet. I read March 2020.

I know, I meant the $99 preorder price offered on amazon.com right now.

https://www.amazon.com/TurboGrafx-16-mini-Electronic-Games/dp/B07QD9GQ9J/

I dunno if a sale price ever gets applied on preorders, if that ever happens/is a concept/thing. Probably not, but I wondered.

EDIT: Well, looked for myself. No dice. And the dilemma is if you don't buy it now, given the state of crazy resale value for PC Engine/TurboGrafx games/hardware, you'll miss out cause these will be very attractive to resellers.

In other words, I don't think you'll see leftover stock and appealing price drops like with the PlayStation mini. The stock will get bought out wholesale by resellers, held, and later flipped on eBay... So if you really want one, you're gonna have to decide now at Konami's prices...

Honestly considering selling my pc engine and ssd3 when this comes out... :/ not seeing a huge reason to keep the original now, especially when this will save me from buying an OSSC eventually.

I’ve been looking into getting a PC Engine again recently, but the SSDS3 is out of stock, and I’m well OCD about the condition of systems. I’ve never bothered with any of these Mini Consoles before so I reckon I’ll give this a go, and save myself from spending a small fortune...

If the ports were USB3 I'd easily buy a turbotap or two for use as a USB hub... hehe. The controllers are nice to have in USB form too.

As for the PCE Mini itself, I really don't care that much. Sure it looks cool, but at the end of the day it's just a themed emu box, and if I don't really need another one of these in a practical way I'm not gonna buy it just because it's a PCE Mini shell.

As long as Ninja Spirit and Lords of Thunder (which I doubt) will be there you can’t go wrong. Best games for the system IMHO.

This mini console might be the best value out of all the mini's. Having a Super Sd makes buying this kind of pointless but having a quick hdmi plug and play with that list of games is very tempting. This is if the emulation isn't fucked.

Looking forward to this although the TG-16 version seems kinda large for a mini console. If the Super Sd doesn't support save states, that could be a benefit of the mini. I was having fun with the save states on the Mega Drive Mini but then I got the Mega SD and can now do all that ish on the full-size/non-mini consoles. Hopefully the emulation is at least as good as the Mega Drive/Genesis Mini since M2 is at the helm again.

I already have a CoreGrafx and SSDS3 but I preordered the TG16 mini for nostalgic reasons since I don't plan on getting a real TG16. I think it'll pair nicely being I can throw it on the big LCD when I have guests over.

This is if the emulation isn't fucked.

I feel PC Engine emulation has been top notch for years. Miles ahead of Genesis/SNES emulation. I don't think they'll mess it up.

I gladly take Salamander over Tokimeki Memorial. Why they put some CD games under the SuperGrafx label I don't understand.

But whatever, give it some time and someone will hack the thing.

This might be a chance for me to catch up on the PC-E. Never had one during the active days of the system, even though I wanted one as early as 1987 after I had read an article about it in Computer & Video Games. There was no proper support for it over here tho so I went with an Amiga instead.

they should bring back the PC-FX. ah well people can auction it, they are only a few $100, but manufacturing new PC FX platforms with PC FX games would be so great. its surprising some PC Engine games even made it to PS3 Japan PSN Store like the Shockman games. as well as Valis I and II (though not sure if they were PC Engine or another platform).
