KOF 99 Cart Colors on MVS

Random and trivial thought just came to mind.

Just how many cart shell colors are there for KOF 99 on MVS?

I know MVS carts come in a slew of different colors. It's commom to each have just a handful depending on the region. KOF 99 on the other had a HUGE variety I have seen in comparison to other titles. I have even seen a dark blood red cart with an authentic English label. Any history or logistics as to why KOF 99 exhibits this crazy cart color selection?

Colors I can remember seeing off the top of my head include:

    Japanese Lable:
    Black
    Bright Green

    English Lable:
    Black
    Clear Green
    Clear Blue
    Clear Yellow
    Dark Blood Red
    Clear Smoke Grey
    Bright Green
    Plain Clear
    Blue

I have seen a white KOF99 with an English label. I'm not sure if it was one of the rental carts though

KOF2k2 also came in a variety of colors.

My guess is SNK wanted them to stand out on the shelf of collectors 20yrs later.

Then they should have sold the carts with an extra "classic black" shell

I am sure operators were just heads over heels for the Banjo Kazooie like collectathon that they wanted to get all the colors of the exact same game. LOL
