Well, far from clearly being "original" (in terms of preservation appeal) the difference is being mono, with a little noise/swish and generally more collapsed/overlapping (and few seconds shorter)... the NGCD stereo version is indeed a rearranged, wider improvement, but still great tracks in both versions.

I can provide a sample if not against the rules.

Hi Massimiliano, yours is not the Bigwax release.

Neo Alec, you shall take care of the quality or differences once released in July.

thanks, I know, that's why I put "Just Kidding" ! I thought it was clear we were talking about the official Scitron release..

Meh, I was more curious what was on the Scitron release. I wouldn't be surprised if the new LP follows suit.

It would be nice to hear it without "BONUS" over and over
Yep, that's why it was nice to listen to Blazing Star in the Unibios jukebox the first time. But then you realize it's just prerecorded music on a short loop and quickly lose interest.

There should be a unibios cheat to just turn off the bonus sound.

Got mine in yesterday! The record looks and plays great. Once again an awesome job from Brave Wave :)

Really dig the memories shared by Harumi Fujita in the booklet.

The only thing that's questionable is the inclusion of the Neo CD soundtrack. The differences are so marginal they could have left it out without any problems. But well, since they call it a "definitive" edition I guess they had no choice.

Do they sound the same, or is the cartridge version lower sampling rate and mono?

I guess the CD soundtrack is straight from the original tapes while the AES soundtrack is just compressed hence has a lower sampling rate. But again, I can't really hear a difference. Maybe one channel more at times but that's totally neglectable.

So you'd rather just listen to the cartridge version? That's interesting.

am I missing something or shouldn't the AES ver be mono?

AES is a Stereo system. Shouldn't be anything in mono.

Oh got my CD in the mail yesterday looks like. Also I'm not sure on the LP but I can definitively tell the difference between the NGH and CD versions of this soundtrack. It's a hell of a lot more crisp with the CD rendition.

Cart version is in mono not stereo, the CD version is though.

got it...people can hear sampling differences between vinyl tracks, but not realize one is mono while the other is stereo... good job guys.

So what's your point? The music is still basically the same, either stereo, mono, higher or lower sampling rate.
