I've heard Venmo works well, used it for a couple of transactions and it went smooth.

Those Money Transfer Apps are intended for you to give/receive money with friends/family. They will each stress that if/when you sign up for one. The top 2 are Cash App and Venmo. If a "stranger" tries to screw you & you attempt a dispute, they'll most likely not help you and state that you violated the TOS(they may close your account also).

Btw, venmo is owned by paypal. So if there is a reason you are avoiding paypal, then it may not be a good alternative for you.
