Hey fellas, Ive taken out my battery from my 4slot, and according to the vid here -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnDsyL5xIEc

I'm going to remove the 470 ohm resistor. Now, when I remove this resistor, can I still boot up the board w/out a battery installed, or will that destroy something?

Dont have my replacement yet, no local RadioShack! And I wanna play some Garou.

Btw I have a MV4F board set. Looking on JammaNationX's site Im finding some different info... I havent cut the 470ohm resistor yet, so Im a little concerned as to which I need to do. Xian Xi's site shows something TOTALLY different than my board.

That resistor removed disables the circuit that recharges the original battery. With no battery in place, the only sacrifice is that none of your settings will be saved once you turn off your unit.Your MVF4 will now mimic the operation of an AES.
You are fine for now with or without the resistor in place but you must remove/disable the resistor before you install the coin cell battery.
