Anyone have a recommendation on a deck that plays all 3 formats? Would also like 5.1 analog outputs.

Blu Ray audio would be a plus but not required.

I'd be looking to spend under $200 used.

I'd have thought a 1st gen PS3 would do the trick or doesn't it support HDCD?

Oppo DV-980H. If you want Blu-ray, BDP-80 or 83.

What music was ever released on SACD except some classical?

It always felt like a dead in the water format to me.

DVD-Audio is more my interest as the albums are cheaper and easier to find (especially 5.1 mixes).
Also, lots of Quadraphonic rips (mostly vinyl with some reel) are released in DVD-A.

But it is always nice to play SACD discs too.

HDCD isn't all that important to me (though I have quite a few discs).

This christmas, I will be installing a new receiver. It will have two sets of multi channel analog inputs giving me one for my Pioneer R2R quad playback deck and one for a new device (such as an SACD/DVD-A player).

I love different audio formats

Nine inch nails - the downward spiral

I believe Tommy by The Who was on SACD as well.

I remember techmoan had a video recently about Bluray Audio and I thought the coolest thing about that format was the Bob Marley and Rolling Stones albums on there had more tracks on one disc IIRC.

Everybody is going to recommend and Oppo and they are right. Hopefully they will start selling players again one day as the demand for them is going through the roof.

There was a big push for SACD in Japan, so more stuff was released on the format there.

I just downloaded the plugin for foobar to play SACD (.dsf) files. Pretty convenient if you just rip the sacd to iso/dsf files.
