even if its only Japan, even if its offline only,
it deserves to get port to PS4. (though if it does get a port, would think ASW would add online to it, unlike its PS2 version). at least then , any ps4 owners in the world can get Japanese psn codes in a store and download it since PS4 is region free

I like the game a lot, but it's hard to pick back up. I feel like I have to relearn it every time I do plug with Atomiswave back in.

I'm surprised it hasn't been ported yet. It is one of my favorite games on the PS2/atomiswave.

well demand influences supply. if the Arc System Works/Sega fanbase go crazy with requests, they could bring it to PS4. especially the Japanese fanbase if they were more proactive.

just like how Hatsune Miku even started get localizations due to demand/requests to Sega.

not sure how much Lost Paradise sold, but even despite the bad sales of Ken's Rage 1, Koei still made the bigger and better Ken's Rage 2 (with the greatest faithful story mode based on the manga, the most complete story campaign for the series, with top production values) happen and localized it.

now the HNK fighting game would be a breeze to port. not sure if Hamster can only do neogeo ACA ports, but they would make an outstanding HNK port on PS4.
though if people want it online, ASW would have to port it themselves.

wouldnt say its late. heck, a particular company still is milking their 90's fighting games these days.

ASW could even bundle like a collection of their fighting games and include HNK in that collection on PS4 PSN Store.

though a big enough demand has to convince Sega/ASW. Japan seems complacent with the arcade version, but there's more money to make and more players on PS4.

Saner, do you think we’ll ever get an Attomsiwave mini system? If we demand it enough do you think Sammy will make one?

I did quite enjoy this on the Atomiswave... it’d be great if it did get released on PSN.

yea I mean Sega should at least think of their Japanese PS4 gamers. at least on Japan PSN, anyone in the world can then just get JPN codes form playasia or something and download it and play it on western PS4 since it would be region free. it sure would be played more than Lost Paradise.

Stupid Sega, Nintendo takes care of their fans way more.

well to Sega's credit. thanks to them Im able to at least now have the complete Dragon Force remake and Phantasy Star Generation 1 remake on my PS3 (through Japan PSN Store).
wouldnt have played them otherwise.

I also gotta check if they ported the PS2 Hokuto no Ken on PS3 too, I havent checked the fighting section yet, but I assume they haven't cause otherwise I would have heard about it, but people dont really know everything they put on the PS3 Japan store. I discovered a lot of amazing things (including SNK's ultra rare Athena Awakening from the Ordinary Life Adventure game! I now have it! it's AMAZING! and hard to figure out without knowing the language, but I did get to like the 3rd location. there is a school, then an elevator and now some kind of area near an aquarium or something. the controls feel similiar to classic Resident Evil. though its an adventure game, I have yet to get to the fighting parts. it is loaded with cutscenes and CG cinematics too )

perhaps with enough demand in at least Japan, Sega could do an encore port of HNK on either PS4 or PS5, especially since PS5 looks to be ambitious to be backwards compatible with PS1, PS2, etc. so theres a chance Sega might bring back Hokuto No Ken, at least the PS2 version. maybe even Sega Ages could remaster it. ASW is busy with Granblue fighting game, so even if a HNK new edition or sequel were to be considered, they have their hands full now. but Sega is the publisher so they can direct port the PS2 version to PS4/PS5. at least on the Japanese store, owning it would be a breeze with a Japan PSN ID, and getting Japan psn codes from a online store. region free platform sure helps.

HnK should’ve used the BasaraX engine. And honestly...how do you have a HnK game w/out head explosions? Even the NES game has exploding heads.

well ASW is somewhat hesitant when it comes to graphic gore (Guilty Gear and Blazblue arent blood/gore heavy games, they have blood, but very minimal),
and Japan tends to censor violence while more flexible with sexual themes.
even the goriest HNK games, the Ken's Rage Koei games, were toned down in graphic violence compared to the localized western versions.

and there is talk of Samurai Shodown 2019 being censored violence at least in the Japan version, with blood and violence toned down.

its kinda weird cause the japanese version of Last Battle has blood and gore, while the western version was censored.
