Neo Geo Pro Controller "Bean Stick" Internal Pinouts (For Button and Stick Modding)
I recently got in two Neo Geo Pro Controllers, aka the bean stick. I wanted to modify them with new buttons, but I had to figure out the pinout of the internal connector to correctly wire the buttons. After verifying all points, this is the pinout of the Neo Geo Pro Controller/Bean Stick.
I hope this helps anyone looking to modify their bean stick, and makes it an easier endeavor.
JOYSTICK CONNECTOR (left)
1 - Ground
2 - Down
3 - Right
4 - Up
5 - Left
MAIN CONNECTOR (right)
1 - Joystick Left
2 - Joystick Up
3 - Joystick Right
4 - Joystick Down
5 - Ground
6 - Select
7 - D
8 - B
9 - Not Used, shares continuity with 7, D
10 - Start
11 - C
12 - A
13 - + Voltage, trace leads to a 100uf 10v capacitor.
