That was thorough, really brilliant, makes me love pixel art even more, would kill to own some of the sketches.

This answers a lot of questions I've had since I was a kid. I'm still in the middle of it but a few things hit me:

1. I didn't know KoF XII / XIII used polygons for animation and the sprites were just tacked onto the polygons. What a bummer. But the silver lining is that SF III is still the king of pure 2D graphics.

2. Is the "Spoon" quoted in the article Spoon from the Neo forums?

Ah, cool. Yeah, his username was Spoon before it was changed to Spoonman.
