When is it safe to change game the game of 138 in 1 multi with DIPMOD?

Is it dangerous to switch games by DIP operation when the power is turned on?

I switch games during MVS TEST MODE (use unibios).

Is this dangerous?

Personally I would only do it when the power is off. The reason - contact bounce on the switches. It's possible to get bounce when switching over. Regards the CPLD switching over between games based on the switch settings, I suspect from that angle it would be OK though.

I would also not risk switching while turned on.
It is unlikely that you break something but I could imagine due to the bounce you will end up with freezes and crashes.
