Got my first record player in '87 at 10 years old. Bought a few singles then decided to splurge on some LPs. I signed up for one of those music clubs and got a few at once for cheap.

Def Leppard - Hysteria
Guns N Roses - Appetite for Destruction
Michael Jackson - Bad

And possibly a couple of other more embarrassing choices... ;)

I can't remember exactly but it could have been Weird Al's Running with Scissors.

Ramstein - Herzeleid
Prodigy - Fat of the Land

Both bought as bootleg CDs on a trip to Bulgaria. In hindsight they hold up pretty well. Still listen to them every once in a while.

Hmmm... not 100% but the first album I remember having that was mine was Weird Al "In 3-D".

First CDs I bought were Faith No More - The Real Thing and Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique from a Sam Goody after getting a CD player for Xmas back in '89.

Excellent choice, although you don't hear any "electronica" bands like Chemical Bros., Prodigy, Crystal Method, Massive Attack, Portishead, anymore. It's like they fell off planet earth.

They're still around. Prodigy's putting out a new album later this year. America just lost interest.
