Man, that's too bad. I never knew that he was born in my state, Michigan, either.

He'll always be Boss Hogg in the Johnny Knoxville Dukes of Hazzard movie in my heart.

He wouldn't have made a good james bond, but he would have rocked as han solo in a cowboy hat.

I felt sad when I readded this. He was my favourite adult movies director since I watched Boogie Nights.

Whether or not he hated Boogie Nights is irrelevant, maybe it was that tension that worked for him. PT gave him his best role and probably would have continued working with him if Burt didn't keep badmouthing him. Supposedly the role of Jimmy Gator in Magnolia was written for Burt but given to Philip Baker Hall after the fallout.

Anyway, goodbye to the man I'll always associate as the Bandit in Smokey and the Bandit.
