We didn't agree on really anything politically, but goddamnit if I didn't respect him as a man. Condolences to his family and RIP senator.

McCain went from “Guy I want to cheer for” in 2000 to “bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb Iran” in 2007. The mental damage of the evangelical GOP was his true murderer, and had he campaigned in 2007 as he did in 2000, he could have won. Overall, I don’t think he really believed in what he was saying. His son most certainly saw a different side to Iran. It was regrettable that he accepted the hawk’s cries for bloodshed.

Well Said. Just because you don't agree with a man's politics doesn't mean he doesn't deserve some respect as a man. I mirror your sentiments.

Pretty sure Senator Kennedy died of the exact same ailment. Didn't agree with McCain politically but he served his country in combat with honor unlike the current president. RIP
