Which World Heroes game you think is better?

I haven't played WHP, but I like JET's tournament mode, which is alongside a forging of heroes mode.

normally, forging of heroes mode is recommended to do first cause that technically takes place before the tournament since the cliffhanger cutscene afterwards can be bridged towards the tournament mode. plus forging of heroes has really cool feature where you can select your opponents.

though yeah World Heroes Perfect doesnt seem like a tournament, doesnt it have 2 modes like the previous WH games? how do they differ?

I feel WH2JET's tournament mode is more consistent and profound with the tournament atmosphere than even KOF games (there are exceptions though, pretty much every stage in KOF96 had a tournament feel to it, except Iori team's stage. but still, nothing beats stadium tournaments)

I really dislike tournament games that take place in back alleys and stuff for fight locations, even with cameras televising the action to the world, its better to have a more stadium format, and while WH2Jet's 1 vs 3 format is weird for a tournament, its still epic (though yea the bull fighting, Captain Kidd fighting solo, felt more like diversions from the tournament format, but still cool.)

I prefer WH2J myself, but of course, I can admit that WHP is the better game. I just preferred the fun deathmatch modes from the previous titles over WHP. The wacky deathmatch modes added some fun variation to the fighting game formula and were what set the World Heroes games apart from other fighters at the time. When I play the World Heroes games these days, it’s WH1 and WH2J that I play the most.

World Heroes Perfect uses World Heroes 2 Jet roms, so what are all the differences? I believe the roms are just for existing charcter animations, while all the new moves and characters, plus new music and UI are on new roms.

I prefer WH2Jet. One of the most defining features of the series for me is that anyone can just pickup and play the game without too much problems. While WHP did improve the mechanics (mind, things like fake dizzies were already present in WH2Jet) it seems to me they tried to close the gap to "technically good" fighting games and lost a bit on flavor and accessibility.

WHP is the more polished game and competitive game imo (although it isn't perfect since there are a few infinites and some moves don't produce enough pushback like Ryokos crouching dashing B/MP)

For starters it has 4 buttons instead of 3 meaning you can press button combinations to do heavy punch and heavy kicks.

I like the BGMs a lot more too. Like these two

I'm going with World Heroes 2. It's a delightfully broken game. As the series progressed to Perfect the game became a more solid fighter, but lost something that the first two games had that made them stupid broken fun.

Yeah, 2 is probably my favorite, too, but that wasn't one of the choices. I love Deathmatch mode and throw reversals.

2 isn't an option here, are you out of your mind? Are you crazy man? It's either 2 JET or Perfect. there is no 1 or 2 option, this isn't that thread. What in the world

I prefer Jet to Perfect. Perfect was too much different from the first three games, which were kind of fun to play, for a while.
In any case, World Heroes and World Heroes 2 are the best in the series IMO, as they have the Deathmatch mode.

I voted Ninja Masters.

I know in my heart that one day Wasabi will look at that copy he’s been holding onto and will say “Moe you are a good guy and my brother so you can have the game for free”.

He's never going to give you the game if you don't even respect it enough to put in the apostrophe. wtf

it does have some impressive tracks

yea its really a toss up, they have their own strengths. also I would have to examine it more, WHP does have much better portraits at least for some of the characters.
though yea JET wins with tournament backgrounds, theres a lot of unique pros for each game.
