Cool trailer. I always liked doa, hope they don't fuck it up like 5.

interesting, and kind of weird.

will games ever return to 90s arcade aesthetics? maybe not yet. DoA1 was a beautiful game when it came out (in terms of arcade graphical attributes).
and will there ever be another VF?

Not digging it, graphics remind me somewhat of MK, the physical features seem slightly off. I'm not too fond of gimmicky camera shifts to show impacts or what have you. It gets boring quick.

Despite all the disrespect it gets, I really dig the DOA series. I really really liked 5. 6 is looking damn good already.

Here's hoping for VF characters returning with some new faces. Kage should have been in here already

Considering I'm a casual fan and find all the games about equal fun because I play at a casual level what makes 5 bad?

I honestly thought everybody liked 5 and hated 4.

It's not that 5 was a bad game, it's more how it got released as a freemium experiment, and never really got a real community built up for it. Sure you could buy the full game, but most people just got the free version and played as Ryu or Kasumi.

Wasn't that not til Last Round?

Pretty sure DoA5 and DoA5 Ultimate were both regular releases (with thousands of dollars in bikini DLC, of course).

Wikipedia says that 5 was a regular release and ultimate was where it started getting freemium. I have no recollection of the regular release, lol.

I actually bought the disc version regular release then a few weeks later Microsoft discounted Ultimate down to $14. I might have played the regular version for 10 minutes.

360 wise I believe there was only a disc version of regular. PS3 had a disc version of Ultimate and I believe Last Round and I know PS4 got a disc version of Last Round. I searched for a disc version of 360 Ultimate for a while.

I just remember Team Ninja and people pretending that they were going to make 5 a "srs bznz fighting game" and not just Fisher Price Virtua Fighter with real dolls to try to appeal to the anti-boob blogosphere and I guess the FGC but no one gave a shit (tournament turnout was laughably low) so they immediately went back to bikini DLC and marketing the game to creepy perverts. They appear to be saying the same kind of stuff for this game but I suspect we'll be back to Marie Rose porn and boob physics shortly.

360 didn't have an Ultimate 5? Like this one?

Yeah the 360 definitely had a vanilla DOA5 as well as DOA5 Ultimate on disc (I have both :)) I think things didn't get weird until Last Round (which I also have). What can I say, I like tits.

Which is a shame, because it is a solid fighter all around as far as gameplay goes. The addition of critical bursts did wonders.

Did they finally give us a move where we can hit the other player with their boobs?
