I wonder if the new members realize that X is a remake of 2 as the slowdown and some other things were a disappointment. So X is literally 2 with aliens.

Agreed. Slowdown notwithstanding, for single player, I tend to prefer 2. However, when it comes to co-op, the chaotic weapons and devious enemy placement of X make for fun credit-feeding on the cab with a friend imho.

I think number 1 is my favorite because it’s the first metal slug I ever played. I already loved run and gun games like the contra series but metal slug took it to a new level of fun .

And I still have to try out the Turbo patch to see how it behaves with two players. I generally play solo so it's ok, but everytime a friend drops in it becomes a little too much.
