Serious question- How many of you people have tattoos?

Oh wow that would be great but also not because I agree with Terry and don't want him to be like 'nah fags, y'all got bamboozled, I like tats'.

I don't like tats. I said a few months ago that when I was in school and saw someone wear a 'Don't judge me if you don't know me' shirt then I am definitely judging them by their classless apparel.

It's human nature; first impressions are wildly important, more than we consciously think of. If I see you dressed like a fag, you're probably a fag. If you've got 'Nevaeh 2013-15' visibly tatted on your arm hey, sorry about your dead baby but you're probably a stupid piece of shit. If you've got face tats then whew lad.

I don't like tattoos and the people who choose to get them. It's a sign of irrationality, impulsiveness and immaturity.

All of these replies and no tattoo pics?

here you go..

z6L1xjq.jpg

My most recent (last year) and my very first one (14 years ago) are on the same arm. The new one is a mighty mouse with my fathers initials/ the initials of myself and 2 brothers. All 4 of us have the same one. The sheet music arm band is the opening guitar lick from johnny b goode. others done: arm has a guitar and some notes and stuff. have a small piece on my left pec and one on my right shoulder i got with my wife when we got married (no names, just a nice memory to share ).

Its a personal choice to get them. If you want one, cool. If not, no biggie. like sylvie said earlier the sensation of getting tattooed can be great and can be a little addictive. Some folks are into that, others less so. Nothing i have can be seen if i'm wearing a polo- basically for professional reasons nothing past the 1/4 sleeve mark. The ones i got arent for showing off to other people, i got them for me.

If you want one, my advice is - get a good artist. That counts. Never buy a tattoo- hire a good artist. Look at their portfolio and body of work. Any real artist will happily share their album with you. Stay away from discount shops.

Honestly I’m a tattoo artist, been doing it for 18 years. I’m covered, couldnt count the amount I have on my body. It’s been a ton of fun and I can see doing until I’m 80. Every day brings a new design and at the point I’m at I pick and choose what I want to do. If it’s not cool or custom I tell people to kick bricks. Same if they throw any attitude or disrespect. The stories I can tell after all these years.

Doesn't sound like you get a lot of work if you're refusing customers.

Actually it's more common than you'd think. The artist that I go to is the same way for certain cliche tattoos. Any place can do your standard fare so it's not really necessary to take everyone.

I have a tattoo on my penis to remind me to wash my hands after masturbating. I'm so forgetful at times!

No tats here, but I DO have a Prince Albert. Tie a string to it, and then I don't HAVE to wash my hands!

Got a few. I'd probably have more but I sit on my designs forever before I actually get them done. I understand it's not for everyone (people who don't like needles, people in certain careers, devout Jews, etc.) but tattoos are just like every other form of artistic expression: there's a lot of stupid, lazy garbage and some super interesting work as well.

I think I'm one of the most heavily tattooed people here and I know you love me.

PS: I am not proud of my tattoos (I mean I am, but not overly) nor do I think they make me cooler or put me in a position where U sHoUlDnT JuDgE Me, like those assholes who throw $2000+ down on the spot to get a "sleeve" and then go around saying people shouldn't judge them and shit or whatever. I'm well aware that I'm permanently marking my body up. But, I guess that really just doesn't bother me at all, because I live my life for fun and sensation. And I'm a sadomasochist. You couldn't keep me away from a tattoo gun.

If you want an apt with me you have to wait 1-3 weeks. I’m always booked. I do mostly traditional tattoos and some black and grey realism. If I’m gonna put my name to something it’s gonna be good. I’m not just gonna throw some bullshit on someone to make money.

Sorry about the crap image quality

The tat with the two faces is a copy of a Jorge De La Vega painting, a great artist from the 60s and 70s

I'll throw mine up as well. I have this one in the ditch of both elbows. Hard to take a picture of both at once though!

Thanks for posting pics guys, it's always interesting to see. I don't automatically judge people for having ink it's just not my thing.

The best one I've ever seen was a guy I took a painting class with, it was his entire right arm with a photorealistic octopus wrapped around it. It was fucking amazing and the dude was cool as hell. When I asked him about it he said his friend was some in demand inker and he did it as a gift over a couple of sessions but he let the artist pick which in the end turned out for the best but the idea of it was kind of odd to me.

Also worked with a guy that had an entire chest piece that went to his shoulders and upper arms that was all HR Geiger stuff. It was dope and I'm a fan but that was a lot of black ink and all I could think was what it would look like in 20 years.
