MVS-2 Monitor Replacement for HANTAREX POLO 25"

Hey peeps,

Would an HANTAREX POLO 25" work for a Neo Geo MVS-2? I am looking to switch out my monitor for one without burn or tearing.

Short answer is yes, but what would lead you to believe that their is a possibility it would not?

I’ve heard Neo-Geos are picky with monitors.

You hear a lot of things...

Frame ICs in CRT monitors and TVs have a frequency range wide enough to cover every frequency across 50-70Hz so if the frequency of a given board is 59.94 or 59.18 or whatever it doesn't make any difference. If the picture is out of sync when you hook it up the first time you simply adjust the V-Hold trimmer and it will sync just fine.

Hantarex monitors are widely used in Europe and I have at least 50 Polo chassis. Do you think I would keep them if they didn't work with MVS?

I've sourced another 25" monitor of the same model but the power cord is cut. :/

Then just put a new one on. The power cord is only live when it's plugged in.

Any recommendations on gage and type of wire? I’ve searched around and have found nothing. I also looked at the service manual and nothing.

It’s not super picky, 16 gauge should be fine.
