161 in 1 Boot problems

Hello all,

I'm a proud owner of a 4 slot big red. The system has been working flawlessly with the few MVS carts I have.

I received my 161 in 1 cart today (while I'm saving up for the MVS carts I want) and I plugged it into the first slot and turned the machine on.

It immediately booted to the games list. Unfortunately, as soon as I selected the game, the system would get into a boot loop at the green screen and there was no way I can back out of it.

I tried my best to trouble shoot this on my own but there is not a ton of information regarding this issue online. I've restarted the machine several times and tried the game alone in all 4 slots. - no dice.

Does anyone here have any advice? Could it a setting throwing the cart off, free play?

Thanks again

Edit: Tried clearing back ram. It did not help.

Hey Runnyman, come to chat maybe we can help you there. Does that sound like a plan?

I’ve heard that the 161 doesn’t like sharing power with other carts. Try it alone. My first worked fine, but I sold that one. I recently got another and it works mostly, but several titles don’t. Greymarket stuff is really hit or miss. Good luck!

I believe theres an adjustment on the power supply of the big red that will stabilize the use of the 161.

I remenber doing it for mine but this was years ago now. I use the 161 and 3 genuine carts with no issues.
