I've read a lot about them over the years, and saw tons of their commercials on TV, but, to the best of my knowledge, there's never been a Toys 'R' Us store in my area of Michigan and I've never set foot in one in my life (we never had a KayBee either). Most of my childhood toys came from Woolworth's or Kmart (both of which are long-closed here as well). Nowadays, Walmart, Target, or Shopko are the brick-and-mortar stores I go to for toy purchases. Amazon or eBay for online stuff.
I feel for the many people that are going to be losing their jobs as a result of the closings, but I just don't have any personal connection to the franchise like many of you do.
