Switch is the best console since the Gamecube.

My XB1 hasn't been turned on in over 6 months, all I play is ps4 and swtich.

I still don't even own a XB1 and I probably never will.

As for the Switch, I bought one on Black Friday last year and I'm pretty happy with it. I have five games for it right now:

Fire Emblem Warriors
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Azure Striker Gunvolt Striker Pack
Ultra Street Fighter II

I have plans to pick up Bayonetta 2 and Hyrule Warriors.

The hardware is interesting and innovative. I really like the platform. The screen is great for gaming on the go for someone like me whose vision isn't what it used to be.

And honestly, the dock to connect via HDMI is such a no brainer. I sometimes wonder what might have happened with the Vita had they provided such an option out of the box.

yeah. remote play was OK, but they could have made it perfect.
WiiU was doing it NP.

If you need to be sold on a switch then it's not for you. Get your money back. I've never understood people who grab a Nintendo system and start threads sell me on this system and stating I don't like any game on the system. Well why in the fuck did you buy it in the first place? You buy a Nintendo system for 1st party games. It's been that way for over 20 years now.

If you're talking to me, let me explain. I got the system for cheap from a GameStop promo, but like I've said before, I have other systems and not all the time in the world to use them. I know why you buy a Nintendo system. I've owned every Nintendo console, and I feel there's more last-gen Nintendo ports the Switch hangs its hat on than its previous consoles. So my questions are regarding exclusives, and if the Switch is something I "should" get now, or wait until I've exhausted my time on the other systems, first. Seems like a simple answer for a simple question if you have experience with the Switch, which I don't.

I'd play Super Mario Odyssey before you sell the console off. It's arguably the best exclusive available right now. The new Kirby game just came out, too, if that's your thing. Super Bomberman R is an exclusive, but you can easily get your Bomberman fix on another console. The Switch is a great console for multiplayer, though, and makes group sessions of Bomberman, Puyo Puyo Tetris, or Mario Kart a breeze.

Golf Story is another fantastic exclusive, though it's a digital-only indie game. I've honestly played this one the most out of the dozen or so games I have for the switch. It's like A Link to the Past with a golf club instead of a sword and with Earthbound-style humor thrown in.

I also just picked up Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, and I'm excited to dig into this one.

All in all, there's at least 10 exclusives available now (others have mentioned Arms, Splatoon 2, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2), so there's bound to be something you'd be into.

Thanks for the help. Having just found the Switch thread, it seems my sentiments about the WiiU ports are shared.

Thanks for the responses, everyone. I'm actually quite happy with the switch. But i dont really pay attention to all the games coming out. I think I have a sub to game informer that the wife got me, but honestly I havent even read the two or three issues sitting in my shitter, lol. I got the switch because it looked like a fun console, and it is so far. But I guess I've gotten some clarification. The system is apparently more about downloadable indie style/retro type games. I'm ok with that. I searched for Metroid on the store and a whole bunch of games that were metroid-vania style popped up. So I cant wait to dig into those. There was one, I cant remember the name but it looks like a super bloody Symphony of the Night.

If i can play that type of shit in bed, or at an airport with the occasional Nintendo heavy hitter like Mario 900, Metroid Prime 4, Zelda 999, then that seems kinda cool.

Describe mega hacked....

The Switch is currently hacked to the point where even firmware updates can't fix it. I'm glad the stupid choice they made to go with the Tegra X1 over the X2 has finally bitten them in the ass. I remember when they tried to sell it as a fully custom chip, lol.

:lolz: Fuckin' Nintendo. I'll admit the Switch is more powerful than I expected, but SoC in a console is bunk.

Incorrect. Custom FW is in fact running full games. They just released something called NXShop, which is apparently like a 3DS version. Basically you can download games directly from Nintendo on the switch without torrents/newsgroups/etc. It's extremely easy to do. Though new revisions of Switches have been found in the wild. Chances are still good to get one that is unpreventable. Is that a word? I dont know.

Oh I know and I support their hardware refreshes. In fact I posted this 2 weeks ago. It doesn't change the fact that cheaping out and going with the X1 for the Switch was a dumb move on a technical standpoint. The Switch is having a hard time with 1080p and sometimes even 720p. The system should have shipped with a X2 installed, period. Why do you think they came up with all the "fully custom chip" bullshit? They already knew back then that the X1 was obsolete.

The X1 is a shame. It's really prevented the Switch from being a capable machine with huge success.

It's been struggling since 2018 has rolled around. I wouldn't completely attribute that to the use of the X1, though. Nintendo had a huge opportunity and they blew it. The momentum of 2017 -- Zelda, then Mario Kart 8 DX, Mario Odyssey -- could have and should have continued for three years, minimum. There should have been a AAA first party title every 3 or 4 months. This would have kept console sales steady and would have obviously sold more games per console. (Personally I only have 2 games.) Kirby flopped, but should have been awesome. Yoshi got delayed. Metroid is far away. No WarioWare, which would be perfect for the Switch hardware. No Mario RPG. No Pikmin, no Starfox, no Animal Crossing. Just trash Smash.

Nintendo is obviously known best for their first party IP, but I don't know if their dev teams can even pull off high quality stuff anymore outside of Zelda and Mario.

EDIT:

Also, they completely blew it with Virtual Console. They decided to go the subscription route to appease shitty investors. If they had every first party NES, GB, SNES, N64, and GBA game on the Switch VC, they'd be raking it in. But nah.
