Thanks for the confirmation! That is what I was thinking... there seems to be quite a lot of these out there. Looks like an MV-1C can be had for about $60.

Hey folks, an update on this...

I got an MV-1C and sure enough it works fine with that! So I guess the MV-1 (or at least mine) is not quite compatible with this newer cart.
