Like really, World Heroes series deserve more hype and praise. Switch got World Heroes Perfect, Im not sure how much it sold, but probably less than KOF98, though SNK syas Neo Geo games are selling like hotcakes on Switch, what about PS4?

so I found out World Heroes 2 Jet recently is added to PS4
https://www.playstation.com/en-us/games/aca-neogeo-world-heroes-2-jet-ps4/

(World Heroes Perfect appeared on Switch almost a year ago), so I'm gonna purchase it to support SNK games, these arcade perfect and priceless masterpieces, on PS4. Perhaps they can help World Heroes Perfect come to PS4 too (I still dont see Samurai Shodown IV on PS4.... but we did get SSV Special, the ultimate Samurai Shodown game, AND Samurai Shodown II. )

https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/aca-neogeo-world-heroes-perfect-switch

so maybe there's a chance World Heroes Perfect could come to PS4, though those chances were greater if there was a greater demand and support of SNK games on PS4. Im not telling people to buy anything, but we know the industry franchises only do more for a game or series, if it sells enough to convince them its worth investment more of those games on the platform. So like, it is demoralizing when SNK games like KOFXIV being in EVO 2018, is off the table. and SNK in general are ignored. but oh mainstreamers dont mind purchasing a SF collection for the 3rd time.

yea I know it may seem awkward playing an edition that is below the definitive and greatest game in the series (like how Metal Slug 3 is clearly better than Metal Slug X.) but while I haven't played WH2 Jet before, Im sure it is awesome, and the next best thing to World Heroes Perfect, but World Heroes Perfect should come to PS4 too, it's just a shame these games don't get as much hype and success like they deserve.

World Heroes has yet to even have a team representing it in KOF series (perhaps KOFXV? well Hanzou, Zeus and Ryoko would be the perfect World Heroes team.)

I'm going to have to agree with Shroom here. Those games were alright for the time but who gets excited about the billionth re-release of world heroes? Saner, a weirdo, that's who.

this is the best snk community there is and most here aren't going to care, man. it's more like a small club than a community and we wont be able to put even a dent in the support needed in anything like this.

World Heroes Jet is probably the highlight of the series but I have no desire to buy it again.

They arent great at all, but they have this "b movie" charm to them thats entertaining for a minuscule amount of time. The death match idea was novel, but nothing else really compelled me to keep playing further than occasional matches. It's one of those series that i always think "why did i not like this game?" then play and figure out why very quickly.

World Heroes sucks.

Stop posting ignorant loser

So anyways...saner is still a fool (obviously).

You see, you should be wondering where the support from the ADK community is. The SNK community can't be bothered!

these are not the best fighting games in the world. but they have some appeal. if it was sitting around for free i would play them. just could not bring myself to drop some money on them when i was younger. but hey to each their own.

i do own WH2 on MVS and i am still not sure why haha but it was pretty much free

these games used to cost $100s of dollars. even if I owned the original AES/MVS, I would still purchase it on current platforms that have it (it's only a couple of dollars!! worth more than buying those highest graphics $60 fighting games.)
and despite not having online play, everyone on PSN list can see I'm playing it!!

here are some 2018 videos of World Heroes 2 JET, I like KOF fighting games, but World Heroes 2 JET has that essence of 2D fighting that even more advanced fighting games lack. It has a unique flavor of genius to it, and overall it has even better art, presentation and design than World Heroes Perfect.

WH2 Jet is an OK+ game.
If you like it, just enjoy it and don't try to convince those who don't.

Haha, yeah the WH games are only ok for a laugh, but there are much better Neo fighting games to port over to the Switch, is MOTW on it yet?

I am shocked by the hate for World Heroes in this thread.

The World Heroes series was the first fighting game franchise that had me laughing at a character's onscreen antics. Mudman, I'm looking at you!

To be sure, World Heroes wasn't great. It was a mediocre cash-in on Street Fighter II. But it was competent. And, as other have said, the series improved.

I've rediscovered my love of the NeoGeo catalog thanks to the ready availability of Hamster's re-releases on PS4, Xbone and Switch. And the game that has been getting most of my attention lately has been World Heroes. The one. The original. Warts and all. I still have my AES cart, but since my NeoGeo rarely sees the light of day anymore, I'm indulging my passion for the games by playing them on current gen systems.

World Heroes, don't listen to the haters. You had a style all your own, and with each new installment you refined your identity until you were something that was very different from the source from which you originally drew your inspiration.

I love World Heroes, and if that makes me a bad person, I don't want to be good.

They definitely haven't aged well, especially compared to other Neo fighters of that time. Playing the first one feels like a slower early beta of Street Fighter 2. The series as a whole is the red headed stepchild of SNK fighters for a reason, and feels too much like an ADK game for its own good.

That said, they can be fun if you want to scratch that retro itch where you're deliberately playing a game because of its age and flaws, instead of being something of actual quality and time-tested gameplay. Same reason I bust out Fatal Fury 1 or 2 here and there just for shits and giggles.

Mikado arcade guys had some fun with WH2 not too long ago. Personally, I like 2 and Jet. Sure, they haven't aged great, but they're still playable and a lot of fun, especially if you're playing someone at your own level, and you're both "beginners". Then, the game can be enjoyed for its quirkiness instead of being picked apart by someone measuring hitboxes and counting frames.

World Heroes 2 JET aged really well! it's still playable and fun!! and its more interesting at level 8 setting

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fCb94ODIx8

it must be heartwarming to the devs that people still play it. :)
I don't see World Heroes as "comical", sure it has a humor side, however, it has a balance of hardcore edge with a light side too, but I would not call it a lighthearted game, it's as serious as people want it to be, these warriors dont pull any punches. World Heroes started rather silly, but World Heroes 2 JET set the standards for the series, especially with its glorious tournament mode and more tournament feel, it's superbly badass and sensational!! There's so much more they could do with that format.
