Most of them for me. I remember getting KoF '94 and Aero Fighters 2 from a mail order place in the mid-90s;

I bought Samurai Shodown II from a small video game store near the Mall of America at launch for $200.

Picked up KoF '99 from Buy Rite.

Metal Slug X US version I bought from Raven Games in St. Paul in 1998 for like $200.

All the other new releases were from Shawns store in the late 90s- early 2000s. When those came out, all of us bought them site unseen; we didn't know what they'd be like, and there wasn't any info on the Internet.

I never bought any Neo games when they were released. The best I could do was get the previous year's KOF on MVS or a used NGCD that had probably been out for a few months.

I remember when my brothers and I got Shock Troopers 2 and Last Blade 2 used on MVS from NCS in maybe 2000. We thought we were serious shit.

I didn't even get my Neo Geos until 2007 (Pocket Color), 2009 (CD), and 2011 (MVS).

So... none.

Absolutely none.

I only knew one guy who had any Neo-Geo stuff before SNK went bankrupt and he only had a Neo-Geo Pocket Color and the sonic game for it.

Was $350 the highest MRSP for a new neo geo game? Any games that costed more new?

the first time i owned a neo wasn't long before snk stopped making games for it. so it wasn't really a potability for me to buy games at launch.

thanks to the saturn and dreamcast i got my neo fix at a reasonable price.

Bought an aes system in 2005 but prior to that I learned of the Neo in 2000/2001 by playing KOF96 on the gameboy (rom of course..) and then figuring out how to use NeoRageX/kawaks for the real deal.

Samurai Shodown V Special US, 359 dollars at launch. Still have it, unfixed of course!

Really happy that I got to taste a part of gaming history, and got in at the last release. :)

I bought Viewpoint and Last Resort about the same time, around '92. The first Art of Fighting, too.

I bought a system in '92. Most games were either $199 or $249 at the time. After that I mostly bought used games for much cheaper.

The only game I ever got when it was newish was the Rage of the Dragons MVS kits that went down in price shortly after release. I was too poor to even consider anything else before that.

I copped Rage of the Dragons on release back when I had my AES system. It felt so good opening the cart for the first time fresh. I still remember that new cart smell.

I bought very few games new, the vast majority of my games were bought used. Home carts I recall buying new were:

League Bowling: £60.00 (Crazy Consoles - 1992)
Andro Dunos: £65.00 (Crazy Consoles - 1992)
Metal Slug 3: £375.00 (Raven Games - 2000)
King of Fighters 2000 (NCSX - 2000) $300?
Sengoku 3 (NCSX - 2001) $300?

I only bought MVS carts within a year of release, being the later releases;

King of Fighters 2002
Metal Slug 4
SVC
Sengoku 3
Rage of the Dragons
Matrimelee
King of Fighters 2003
Metal Slug 5
Samurai Shodown V

Bargains could be had back then!

Traded my extra copy of LB2 and some $$ for Sengoku Legends 2001 at a local video game store. Was going to buy ROTD from the same shop the first day they got it in, but some guy beat me to it -- he had his hands on it and wouldn't let go. I think (memory is failing me as I'm getting older) I also got my matrimelee and SVC chaos from the neo store at release.

Bought the home system around 99/00. I sold all of my homecarts and system a long time ago, the box still had the Electronics Boutique sticker for $799. I bought it second hand, but I am still amazed by how expensive it cost.

Bought my first Big Red in Kansas City at an auction with Jigen back in 01. Paid ~$600, it came with 7 or 8 games. I picked up kits of most releases from then on new.

Still have the auction slip, I keep it tucked in the back of the cab.

At this point the cab has been in my home longer than it was on route.

Metal Slug 3 at a shop in Barcelona back then at around $300. Unfortunately I lost my job and had to sell it like 1 year later because I really needed the money :(

I had Ann AES King of the Monsters, Nam and Magician Lord which while wasn’t brand new was less than a year old in in the early 90’s

Only “recent” one I had when it first came out was Sengoku 3, bought this about 6months after it came out.

Really wish I’d bought a few other late 90s early 00’s games new before they went crazy in price.

I bought Garou, KOF 2000-2003, Metal Slug 3-5, Matrimelee, Rage of the Dragons, Samurai Shodown V & Special, Sengoku 3 and SNK vs Capcom all brand new from NCSX. I also bought Metal Slug X and KOF 98 direct from SNK, but after they were released.

Curious how much were these games back then?
