Are you one of these people?

Like when playing a game with sneaking and stealing- they won't sneak or steal because it's WRONG in real life. Or say Fallout 4- and they won't use drugs because "I learned it from watching YOU, Dad!"

It's a fucking GAME and it has no connection to real life save in your imagination.

Live a little, it's not like GOD is going to judge you on whether or not you stole a fucking stimpack from someone.

Your thoughts my Lords and Ladies?

Back when Mass Effect was the hot series, I read about players who wouldn't use the renegade options because the responses were "rude."

When I played, I maxed out the asshole meter.

I will say while playing a game, I've thought about the consequences of my actions if it were real life. Never stopped me from doing something in a game.

Who doesn't want to see all of a game's endings?

I skew 'good' in games because it feels wrong to me to be bad even though I know it's a game; It's just the way I am, and I'm not ashamed for feeling that way.

What are you implying?

Like I care what a greasy yellow slope thinks.

I can't tell what you are implying with your poor use of forum codes. But just to humor you, only an asshole feels the need to have a sig covered with the systems they own.

I have wondered to myself in the past how I would/could respond to a situation like the star trek holodeck. Do what you like, 100% realism, zero consequences.

Could I rape someone to see if I share the enjoyment from it that some apparently do? Win myself a bunch of fights to feel like the big man for a night? How would I use the technology and would the knowing that it was false take away the gutter emotion that I perhaps would try to experience? Should there be rules in place to stop people getting a taste for this kind of thing should holodeck equivalent technology ever become available?

Where we stand now, however, is not so morally challenging to me. I would happily execute you in your respawn spot twenty times in a row for shits and giggles, no question.

Would be funny if there was a character in Fallout 4 that behaves exactly like him.

Because big brother won't be happy putting away pervs who own illegal porn. They'll turn to people who like violence. Because logically speaking what makes some perv who wanks to a six year old, but has no intention to ACTUALLY doing anything any different then some asshole who gets off blowing innocent people's heads off in a video game, but has no intention in doing anything (other then one is currently illegal and one is not)?

Yeah I usually try to go the good guy route. Even now I still usually do that on the first play through but I used to never go bad guy. Then I played Demons Souls...

In that game if you want to get all the content and see the game for what it actually is, you gotta be an asshole. I remember when at the end of like new game++ I finaly started chopping away at the Maiden before the final boss fight and it actually made my friend (a real big Souls head) who was sitting there upset.

Made the moment so much better :tickled:

I strive to win at all costs.

What I see quite a bit is people complaining about other players who're taking advantage of a perfectly acceptable way to play the game like camping in an fps. The way I look at it is if you've been beaten it's irrelevant how you were beaten as long as it isn't cheating.

Another good example of this was in Battlefield 3 and 4 you could strap C4 onto a motorbike, ride it at full speed towards a vehicle/tank, bail off the bike and detonate the C4 resulting in a few kills. That sent people off their fuckin rocker hah but hey not patched out? too bad and as far as I and the game is concerned that is a legitimate play style. Got a problem with a game? complain to the developer.

Because watching paedo porn creates the market that means more is made.

Nobody has to actually die for you to shoot someone in a video game.

Kill the market then. There will be some poor country that sells their children to slavery & they will shoot the porn. Either way your're branding people because they MIGHT do something. Correct me if I'm wrong, but are cops arresting and making a database for violent offenders who own illegal death matches on some form of media?

IMHO the difference between the two is violence is more accepted then sex.

In some cases I would agree, for instance I would prefer my son was punched in the face than fucked in the ass.

In single player games, I generally don't consider the moral implications of what I'm doing in a game too much, because it is just fantasy, but sometimes you are presented with a very clear ethical choice to ponder, and, in those cases, I usually do what I consider to be the "right" thing like I would in real life. And, when I'm playing with others, I'm not a dick, I share weapons/food/ammo, help people that need assistance, etc.

Years ago, on another forum, I remember a lengthy discussion we had about whether you were "honorable" or not and allowed the other player to pick up their weapon in Samurai Shodown when they were disarmed, or if you did your best to keep them from reclaiming it.

Same. I remember being pretty pissed off when New Vegas came out, because no matter who you sided with, you were forced to kill a different faction. There were good "people" in most of the factions, but the game didn't care about that. Took me a long time to get over that and enjoy the game for what it was.
Life is pain, and anyone who says differently is selling something> I don't wish to add to others' pain.
Unless they're Trump-tards.

Or say Fallout 4- and they won't use drugs because "I learned it from watching YOU, Dad!"

I only do the drugs that have healing, and not the kind that just make you have more HP. All those other drugs I just sell to the vendors.
