Help with monitor choice, PC nerds requested

I've asked a few friends about this, thought I would post the question on here to see what other peoples' thoughts are.

Basically, I'm looking for a monitor that's around 22-24 inches. I won't actually be using it with a PC, I'm going to be using it with my spare Xbone and Xbox 360 that's in my office. It needs to have speakers and a headphone jack (I'll mostly use headphones with it, I know built in speakers are awful.)

I've narrowed it down to these two choices that seem to fit the bill:

    https://www.amazon.com/24-inch-FreeS...rds=asus+vg245

    and this:

    https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...82E16824236335

The main difference here is basically the VG245 has a TN panel while the VN248 is IPS. The IPS panel looks MUCH better than the TN, but the TN has better response time, and has a rotatable stand which would be handy for tate. The IPS is a bit cheaper, but the cost savings would be offset from me having to order a rotating VESA mount. Input lag seems the same on both monitors (virtually nonexistent.)

I actually don't own any LCD screens outside of my laptop, so I haven't really used them for gaming. For those that have, what are your thoughts? My only reservation on the IPS is the response time, in some reviews some people mentioned a slight ghosting on the IPS panel, others say they game on it all the time and it's perfect. Ghosting would drive me bonkers and I probably wouldn't end up using it much. Meanwhile on the TN panel there are tons of rave reviews from gamers, but the color obviously isn't quite as good.

    I use this monitor...

    https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...-574-_-Product

It's actually designed for console games, not PC games, but I use it fro both. There is a headphone jack, but the speakers are kinda weak, as is with most monitors.

The presets are my favorite feature. Fighting game mode looks great, and FPS mode really gets the job done. It's makes a huge difference on how much you can see in game.

There are also many other viewing presets, such as various RTS modes among others.

The newer versions also tate, which is nice for vertical SHMUPS. Those cost about double though.

I would have to say the BenQ RL27HM is by far the best monitor purchase I have ever made, especially for the price.

If you just want to game, it's going to be hard to find a better monitor for the money. I actually found mine local at a microcenter for under $200.00, and that was about 2 years ago.

Yeah the 144hz Benq's are very nice indeed, alot of my competitive Quake playing buddies have some variant of those.
