If you are having Thanksgiving dinner, which side dish is a must have?

We had a potluck last Thursday at work, and somehow when I reached the mashed potatoes, my plate was full.

Sadly, I didn't get any, as I was eating my meal I realized how much they complete a turkey dinner.

So I say, mashed potatoes.

Which is your go to side dish?

Stuffing for me too, but green bean casserole is a close second. Midwesterners represent!

Hawaiian sweet rolls and not the store bought stuff.

Stuffing, cooked in the bird, is a very close 2nd.

If y'all haven't tried Alton Brown's mac n' cheese...man. It's almost too sweet, but the bread crumbs baked on top offset it enough. So good.

Smoked Mac n Cheese followed closely by white trash Pillsbury Biscuits.

This is the kind of biscuits we get every year. It's just not Thanksgiving without em!

You guys ever try the brown and serve rolls that are available during the holidays?
They come on a cardboard tray inside of a bag.
They are cheap, like $1-1.50 a pack.

They are simple, but taste great.

I don't care for those, too sticky.

Stuffing cooked in a bird, just taste better than simply baked in a casserole.

What do you guys put in your stuffing?
I like to cook a bunch of turkey necks, shred them, and use both the shredded meat and broth (from the necks) in my stuffing.

The texture?

I'm going to try the pilsbury biscuits, don't think I've tried them.

It's a toss up between stuffing and a smokey white cheddar mac & cheese for me.

I didn't realize mac n cheese was such a popular Thanksgiving dish. We've always just had mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, sweet potatoes, and dinner rolls.

I'm going to have to second Mashed Potatoes as a core must, along with stuffing.

That said deviled eggs are also a great side.

Green bean casserole is the correct answer. If you disagree, you've probably never had it.

My grandma's deviled eggs are always awesome. But in terms of traditional thanksgiving food. Creme corn > yeast rolls > Stuffing > green bean casserole > cranberry sauce. I prefer Turkey roasted in the oven. None of that smoked/deep fried shenanigans.

Do you mean all of that on the pussy? or next to it? during? I think we're gonna need some clarification on that.
