I have a 1945 that when ever I try and play it I get a Z80 Error. this has happened on 3 different MVS boards, its the only game that has giving me this issue. I have reflowed all the solder points on the 1st board. Cleaned the pins a lot. I ones got a Red square not the Z80 error, but only once. All the Z80 fixes I can find are on the MVS board, not the game cart. Can anyone help with this error?

Check / replace the M1 ROM. Could also be the ZMC chip on there, but more likely the ROM.

I hope it's the rom for your sake. I had to have mine repaired with a donor board (swapped my roms to it) for the same issue.

Replace the M1 with a new 4001(?) and if you still get the error, check for floating pins on the CMC.

Yeah, as Xian Xi says - I didn't realise it was board with the CMC on it.

I sent mine to tyrannix years ago and he swapped in a new CHAFIO with my roms iirc, since the CMC was bad in my case. Fixed the z80 error and the games been fine since. In my case I know the previous owner cranked the 5v way too high, and my carts original CMC was unfortunately the victim of that.

so with the CMC chip, that can come out of the KOF? or can that be burnt to a new chip? also IF I want to check if the M1 was bad what chip do I need to burn?

To my knowledge CMC is a custom IC. So if yours is bad then you will need a donor. Usually safer to transplant the roms to a board with a good CMC than to transplant that chip itself.
