Playboy's 'Miss November' is going to be a she-male. Not sure if Playboy is just grasping for publicity to sell magazines or if they're actually trying to push social acceptance for transgenders.

The internet has made Playboy magazine mostly irrelevant, but is this disrespecting their audience/history or is this non-news and acceptable cultural progress?

You never see anything but bush in the centerfolds anyway, so I'm not expecting any floppy weiners, but it would be great if it was Playboy's first pop-up issue and a big ol' dong slapped you in the face when you unfolded the page.

Still, this reeks of publicity, although I guess she/he has been featured in the magazine already.

Honestly I think millenials are just way more openminded about sex than us old farts. 20 years ago when we were on dolphinlordssnkneogeodomain, playboy was just starting its descent into oblivion, as online porn became more and more accessible. So they need publicity for sure. Although I can’t see how they justify staying in business.

Last night in class, we were discussing Omni magazine...and the popularity of magazines in the time before the internet. At some point in the conversation, Playboy came up. None of us could understand how the physical magazine still exists.

Well that's fucking disgusting. Psychological problems shouldn't be advertised.

Sounds like it was a real meeting of the minds there.

I'd subscribe to Playboy still if I didn't catch shit from female family members over it :D

As it is, I get Rolling Stone and Time. Playboy has interesting articles. If you just want teh nudez then yeah, it's pointless.

Not in my experience. Most of them just seem to be narcissists who like talking about themselves and using their "open-mindedness" as a cudgel to beat people in and outside of their peer group to establish social hierarchies, make themselves feel important and appear virtuous. Plenty of people from our generation are perfectly fine with transgendered people. Or anyone else in the LGBTQ spectrum. Hell, look at this forum. Plenty of people seem to unironically love girlcock. We just don't feel the constant need to remind everyone how open-minded we are or how evil everyone is who isn't in to it.

I feel like we're going to end up with a generation of people that'll be the reverse of the "conservative politician who writes anti-gay laws and gets caught sucking dick". All they do is go on and on about tolerant and accepting they are and shaming/destroying people's lives on social media who get caught saying anything remotely intolerant and it'll turn out they're all intolerant and shitty human beings just like everyone else.

Obviously it's not all of them. And I don't entirely blame them. They learned from the biggest generation of narcissists ever. The only difference is that they grew up with social media platforms that fed that behavior.

Yeah, yeah, yeah...eat it.

I got them form 5:30-9:30...after they've worked all day. I only have their actual attention for about 2-3 hrs before their "give a shit" drops to zero. Once that happens, I open the floor to anything they want to talk about.

Playboy's demographic is mostly older men, millennials aren't going to subscribe just cause they throw some dick in the mix. This will just fragment what's left of their subscription base.

Are you gay if you jerk off to a trans-female?

Jerking off is gay...I mean really think about it, you're jerking off a dick...which is gay.

There's the old joke of "I read Playboy for the articles", but when I was subscribed to Playboy - I think this was a birthday gift when I turned 17, can't remember, don't ask - the articles were actually really good. The interviews were top-notch. So around 2005-2006 the articles were top-notch. Dunno how good they are in 2017, but I'm comfortable enough now to say that I enjoyed the Playboy interviews and other articles.

To be 'open minded' is a pure capitalistic approach. Sex sells, push social acceptance for it and it'll sell even better. It doesn't apply for a printed version, though.

Next they'll have an expose on immobile fat mothers just to show they're anti body shaming.
