Universe bios screen saver

Was playing metal slug 2 last night, "paused" the game and forgot about it.

Went back 2 hours later and the screen saver hadn't turned the screen off!

This is the first time this has happened for me.
Does anyone know why the screen saver would not initiate? Usually only takes around a minute.

Checked buttons ECT. Nothing was held down.

There must be a space in RAM that can store the onscreen tiles before they are wiped, if no space is found the screensaver cannot activate. I don't think I have ever seen this happen though. Are you sure you were in the ingame menu front screen and not one of the submenues?

I was playing Metal Slug 2 Europe Arcade mode.
All cheats on for player 1.
Played for 30 minutes then pressed ABC P1 Start.
Left it at that screen.
2 hours later it was still there.

I use a 138 in 1 dipswitched and had changed 2 games with only soft reboots used.
Maybe that kept the ram full?

might be, not sure how the system would handle that.
