MV1B Garbled graphics issue

Here's some pictures of what I am seeing:

It does this even without the bios attached at all (I can't boot neo-diag either). The only damage I could spot was on GA1, but I don't have a datasheet. From what I can see - the blackened pins don't actually connect to anything?

I haven't started probing anything yet, but I thought I'd ask here - anyone else run into this problem before?

That screen would show without any BIOS connected (or not connected properly). Did it ever work when you removed the SMD bios and installed your own bios? Or did you buy it as faulty?

No - I actually went that route to see what neo-diag would say.

Fwiw - I removed the firmware chip with hot air gun - I could put the original chip back ;).

I did get the board as faulty, but so far its been nothing simple.

Ah perfect - yeah I hadn't connected speakers to it just yet, but its a fast click.

Would bad NEO-DCR-T/4L01F1749 cause a similar problem as it does all the rom address decoding?

It could do but I would start by seeing if the wiring to the bios is all good and if the cpu is active and the wram looks good and healthy.
