Yet Sony continues to push them like they are amazing AAA content.

PLEASE Sony, just stop. I understand I am biased as I just don't find Spiderman terribly interesting to begin with, let alone want to play a video game version. But seriously...just no.

I don't care how open world or graphically impressive it may be.

Dude, I feel the same way about the video games, all of them suck and I haven't played most of them but I just know, however I do like Spider-Man comics.

This is the only Spiderman game I ever cared about. When I became old enough to realize it was trash I overwrote the disk with a better game.

I remember playing Spiderman vs. The Kingpin for hours on the Genesis as a kid.

When I was a kid I played the hell out of the Atari 2600 game. It's kinda like Crazy Climber but featuring Spider-Man.

There still hasn't been a game that topped that.

The arcade game is a great beat-em-up with phenomenal artwork, much like Captain America and The Avengers.

My only gripe is that the Spider-Man sprite has a slouching problem.

EDIT: I actually enjoyed a huge majority of Spider-Man games, up until the PS3/360 titles.

Eh I dunno. Spider-Man and that upcoming Uncharted game are the only things that I liked about Sony's conference. I hardly ever watch gameplay videos but I did watch the Spider-Man one and it looked pretty fun to me.

i was pretty fucking pissed off that there was nothing regarding Final Fantasy VII. apparently they had some weird company that pretty much only ever made Naruto games working on it??? and NOW its switched to being in-house?? I wish I could shoot Tetsuya Nomura in the face.

I'm with you, OP. Shawn Layden could've ended Sony's press conference with a wet fart and told me to go fuck myself, and I would've been more interested than I was seeing Spider-man. I'm sick to death of Batman Arkham games, and here you are giving me a Spiderman Arkham game that won't be out until 2018. *yawn*

Gotta say, I am looking forward to Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2... mostly just for the fact that it has Spider-Gwen in it.

I like the Spider-Man game that came out on PS1/N64/DC. Solid 3D beat em up, cool uses of powers.

The Dreamcast version is the best by far but most people likely remember the PS1 version.

I always thought Spider-Man 2 was overrated. Web slinging around the city is cool as fuck for about 10 minutes but there isn't much fun to be had in the game beyond that.
