Any tips on how to maximize score on Double Dragon? IIRC there's a scoring glitch that breaks the game somewhere or maybe that's only for the NES version. I can't seem to break 100k on 1cc runs and I'm trying to figure out if another guy's score is "legit" or he's milking a glitch.

Yep NES version has that power up glitch if you get one of those red haired dudes stuck on a fence or something.

The glitch is basically hitting a blind spot to maximize your hearts on short time, so basically your score means shit if you do that.

All the enemies can be milked easily except for Abobo, if you have one enemie on each side and hit them 2 times, stun them, go to the other enemy, hit 2 times, stun, rinse, repeat. You can milk and get your hearts maxed quicker too but then again is that fair for a score? Dunno, maybe if time left is a multiplier of some sort.

I'd say the guy is milking it moderately, here there, keep things moving.

Can you ask this person or is this for some type of competition?

Are you clearing the game with just elbows? This person might be sticking exclusively with a score-rich attack. For all I know, the elbow could be worth a lot, so I don't know.

EDIT: To be fair, milking or exploiting glitches doesn't necessarily make a score illegitimate. I know what you mean here though.

I remember for that particular site I had a little trouble signing up because it detected right away my computer wasn't located in Japan, but it seemed to forgive it. Perhaps no problem to sign up these days.

Thanks for the replies, guys. It's not for a competition or anything, just trying to beat a friend's score and he posted a big increase out of the blue.

Another friend sent me this vid which is pretty helpful as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwsjexdLiEk

Different attack types receive different scores and there are a couple of spots where the enemy is on a different level/platform where you can repeatedly hit them without killing them, thus racking up the points. If you watch the vid, you'll see what I mean :)

You can't endlessly juggle enemies though due to the time limit so it seems the game isn't technically broken, just milkable.
